Joey is an absolutely amazing colorist/stylist, especially for blondes! When I first moved to Fort Lauderdale, I tried 3-4 different salons and was getting frustrated with the results, but then I saw the great reviews about Stephen Julian and decided to make an appointment. I am so glad that I finally found Joey! Hair is so important to me and he does a phenomenal job with my color. I also love how welcoming and friendly Stephen/everyone in the salon is and they let me bring my yellow lab to my appointment and are so sweet to her as well. I am thrilled with this salon and recommend it to everyone!

Jessica is absolutely AMAZING! She was my hairstylist when she used to work in West Palm Beach, and I still see her now that she works at Stephen Julian Salon in FLL! I don’t even mind the drive because she’s a hair magician. My balayage is always so blended, soft, just beautiful and with the exact tone I want. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also a beautiful human being, so kind, patient and fun!

I’m a man with rather long hair and came in to meet with Joey to essentially go back to very short hair again. He not only was able to talk me out of it but make my hair look exactly the way I knew it always could be but hadn’t been for quite a while up to that point. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair since my appointment and will forever go back to him and this salon. If it weren’t for him I know I wouldn’t be nearly as happy with my hair and would probably be having an identity crisis along with it😂 10/10 service, super friendly staff and an extremely nice spot with good parking as well. I will recommend this to anyone looking to have their hair looking good and having them feeling better

A hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale!!💎💎💎When my regular stylist retired, I did a search for local salons with good ratings and I took a chance on Stephen Julian Salon and I am SO GLAD that I did!!! I got a complete total glam transformation.. k-tip extensions, total color change from dark brown to merlot, and a gorgeous cut. Wow. Not only was the staff incredible and super talented, but they are amazing people. Such a great vibe!! Jen did a perfect k- tip install that was comfortable even when I slept that night! She is not only meticulous and talented, but so fun and a total sweetheart!! I’m never going back to not having extensions after my awesome experience!! The color she did on my hair was absolutely GORGEOUS. Stephen is an incredible master stylist and did a stellar cut on me too. They were both so accommodating and informative and super fun!! I’ve been going to this salon for years now and I ALWAYS walk away glowing. Joey is my stylist that I have trusted since 2016 to get my hair back into health after years of heat damage. Not only did he get my hair healthy again, but he made it grow miraculously and has kept it hydrated and shiny. I have very thick and curly hair so other places never knew how to properly work with my hair type, and he knows how to style it without damaging whether I want to leave it curly or go straight for a few days-I’m left feeling AMAZING. I won’t go to anyone else!

I went to Stephen after I had a horrible coloring job at a previous salon. My hair was almost breaking off and I had very little options to fix it and a wedding coming up. He not not kept my hair from not breaking or getting any further damage but transformed it into a beautiful soft look that accentuated my natural hair color and added gorgeous soft highlights. It’s been 2 years now and I have been going to him ever since. He’s truly the only professional hair stylist I know that can deliver exactly what you want and keep your hair healthy!!! He’s truly the best !!

Joey is an amazing colorist. Ive been to multiple salons in South Florida and my color was good but not great. There were different tones of blonde andsome hair not lifted the way it was supposed to, but WITH JOEY, my hair was GREAT! It was lifted evenly, toned properly and had no damage at all. I mean look at these before and afters! Ill give Joey my money until the day I die. If you want to be blonde, look no further. New!

I saw Jessica, who gave me possibly the best bleach/toner/root touch-up of my life. This is only tragic because after a single visit, I moved, and traveling out of state to get my hair done is unsurprisingly out of my budget. Stephen Julian Salon, however, is definitely IN my budget, and I was so tickled to find their pricing to be so reasonable, given the quality of service. The stylists were all very sweet, and created a lovely atmosphere, and Jessica turned me on to a new (to me) product (K18), which made my bleach blonde hair softer than ever. We werent together for very long, Jessica, but I miss you. Come to Tennessee!

All I can say is look no further if you’re looking for a new salon! The moment I walked in I felt such positive energy at Stephen Julian Salon. My stylist Stephen was phenomenal. I’ve been to a few salons in the area and have walked out with good, but not amazing haircuts. But now I’ve finally found the one! Stephen was friendly from the second he greeted me and made me feel at home in the chair. He not only listened but asked thoroughly about what I wanted for my haircut. I could tell as soon as we started talking about the vision for my haircut he knew exactly what I wanted, no pictures as examples necessary! The entire experience was amazing and I’m looking forward to having an outstanding salon and stylist to go to regularly. I absolutely love this salon, they always deliver! I usually go to Barbara who is a color genius but on occasion, when she is booked, I’ll try other stylists and they never disappoint. This time I had the pleasure of working with Lindsey and she knocked my highlights, toner and cut out the park. Being in the industry myself (for over 20 years) I know talent when I see it and this salon is stacked full of it. Stephen was working next to us and the cut and color he performed on his client was gorgeous as well. Warm family type environment, fair prices and incredible craftsmanship. Stephen has been cutting my hair for years. I have moved to two different states, yet still fly all the way home for EVERY haircut so that Stephen can cut my hair for me. I will never, ever let anyone else cut my hair. He is talented, charismatic, and passionate about his work and his business. Anyone and everyone that walks in that door will feel like theyre at home hanging out with a friend, getting their hair cut. He goes out of his way to connect with his clients, get to know them, and understand their needs. I have referred friends, family, and strangers to Stephen because I know he will always do a good job!Hair stylists are a dime a dozen, good ones that care about their clients are rare. I came here to get my hair colored an cut, I had no idea what I wanted. Tina and Stephen took so much time in helping me decide what color to go for. I have never been so pleased with my hair, Tina did a mix of colors that resulted in a perfect auburn shade, I showed her a pinterest picture of how I wanted my hair cut and styled and she left it exactly like I imagined. I love this salon! It is easy to make appointments online. The staff is friendly (and responsible, regarding COVID), the atmosphere is welcoming. I come here to get my hair cut. My hair is very long and I like that they don’t add an extra $10 to my bill at checkout because of the length. My stylist is Yazmin. She does a fabulous job maintaining my hair and is a pleasure to talk to while she does her magic.

This is the happiest little salon!Stephen and his team are so nice, fun, inviting and really, really good with hair! Everyone is always working on something cool while you’re there, from blonde to fantasy to styling. You can tell that they all really care and will work to make your hair look perfect. I randomly stumbled across this salon through an Instagram post and I immediately knew I had to book an appointment, specifically with Yazmin for blonde highlights and a haircut. My hair has never looked better! She was able to execute the brightest, blondest, healthiest highlights I’ve ever had, no brass here. This is not the type of salon where you will walk out feeling disappointed or like they didn’t do what you wanted. Good hair and good vibes. 10/10 recommend!

Ive always gone to barbershops and never thought I would use a hair salon. But let me tell you, it is completely worth it. As soon as you walk through the door, Stephen makes you feel at home. They offer you coffee and talk to you as you wait. Tina was the one that cut my hair and she did an excellent job. I got a haircut, shampoo, scalp massage, and beard trim for a very fair price. I would recommend this place to any guy or girl looking to try something new with their hair. The people that work here are the reason Ill be coming back in the future.

I had the best hair experience at this hair salon hands down. After practically living in a pool for over a decade and having major chlorine damage, as well as many henna dye jobs, my hair was not in the best state for the natural, sun-kissed balyage look I have always wanted because of the lighting process. I was terrified to go near bleach because of all the prior damage that was inflicted on my hair. Nevertheless the magical hands of Tina managed to transform my very dark brunette hair to exactly what I dreamt of in just one treatment. Being super patient, she made sure my hair was not negatively effected my the product and tested out a small part before continuing, allowing me to feel completely safe, cared-after, and not to mention calm throughout the entire process. Stephen and the entire team were just as lovely throughout the systematic procedure and I honestly felt like family there. I honestly recommend Tina and the team to anyone in the South Florida area, even if you have a tricky hair history like mine. 5 stars all around!!!

Wowowowow! Yazmin did my partial balayage+cut+style today and she did an amazinggg job. She took her time and even rearranged her schedule to accommodate how much hair I have. She asked super specific questions to make sure I got what I wanted. She really went above and beyond and delivered. Everyone here is really sweet and friendly and THEY HAVE A RESCUE DOG named Honey who gives free cuddles 🥰 (She also had a rhinestone Collar and a fuzzy pink jacket which has nothing to do with my hair, but talk about cuteness overload). The salon isn’t too big so socially distancing is easy and everyone was good about masks. Highly recommend! Grateful for local businesses like this one.

You guys. You know when you’ve spent ages looking for the perfect salon/stylist and then you finally find it and it’s practically life changing? Well, that’s what just happend to me with SJS. I’ve tried so many stylists and have spent so much money on results that are mediocre and underwhelming. Then Tina got ahold of my hair and worked some SERIOUS magic! She listened to what I wanted and did exactly what I asked for, it couldn’t have turned out any better. I have known Stephen for years. I began going to him when I was about 19 or 20 and I am now 27. He is AMAZING and truly gifted at what he does. He sets very high standards and thats one of the things I love about him. Hes very easy to talk to and he will edit and edit and edit your cut until you LOVE it. He is not satisfied until you are and that to me is priceless. Hes the type that if you go home and realize you want something tweaked, hell have you pop back in and fix it - boom, done. The salon itself is fantastic too. I spent a good bit of my day there a few months back (cut, baylage, ombre, blow out and curled) and I did not want to leave. Such a FUN atmosphere - I felt like I was just hanging out with some friends. He has set the bar extremely high, which makes it difficult for me because I moved 8 hours away and now have to find someone who measures up! :( I once made a 3 hour trip to get my hair done by him - yep, hes that good. Worth every dang penny (and thats coming from a cheap person haha!!)

I started going to Stephen about 8 years ago while he was still at Kaizen and it was nothing short of life changing for my hair. I know it sounds dramatic, but for someone like me who needs to get a weekly blowout or I look like a chia pet, he was a god send. We went through long to short back to long and from black to dark brown and everything in between together before I moved to Chicago to get married. I still visit Stephen everytime I visit my parents (2-3 times a year) and still get my hair cut and blown out by him. In fact, I love him so much that he gave my daughter her first ever hair cut and treated her like a princess while doing it. He and his team are thoughtful, social, honest, knowledgeable but most of all, they are kind and know what they are doing. I am so thankful that I walked into Kaizen that day because all these years later, he is the only person I trust to cut my hair.

Although I noticed they have been given some negative reviews for reasons that I find hard to believe, I can say that from personal experience one must always read the reviews Carefully. I am one that leaves many reviews based on my experiences where ever it is I might be and with time just by reading the negative reviews you can at times notice a trend that at times could be just one that had a bad day and has unfortunately expressed negative feelings and spreads it down their connections towards the place. Its such a relaxed environment and laid back boutique feel but lemme tell you they get work DONE! Brian is so talented. Whenever I go in with a direct idea of what I want he does it exactly and whenever Im unsure he literally reads my mind when I didnt even know it. They wont charge you an arm and a leg like a lot of places in the area do.. plus.. yall... They. Give. You. Wine.These folks make you feel like youre all hanging out together but while also getting top notch hair treatments. I travel from downtown Miami for Brian specifically but anyone in there I think will set that do straight for you.
