    A while back I found my go to hairstylist and now she works at salon 716. Robin Stokes is by far the best stylist I have been to and her prices are unbeatable. I specifically told her I was tired of telling hair stylist to NOT cut my hair short and then they would anyway. Robins actually listened and her styles are incredible. Not to mention the great atmosphere and self serve coffee/tea bar with snacks.

    I moved away about 3 years ago. I have tried several places and although nice people, I have yet to find anyone as amazing as Melanie. She colored, cut, style my hair like no one else, an artist for sure.

    Robyn Is the best stylist ever!! She cuts my hair every few months and does a fantastic job! She definitely knows what she is doing and always gives me advice on how to take care of my hair. I love this salon! 100% recommended

    This review is not timely but as I face trying to find yet another person to cut my hair I realized you don’t know how good you have it until you don’t anymore. I moved away from Gainesville 3 years ago and still have not found someone who can cut my hair like Melanie. I have very tight curls that can be a challenge and no one here seems to get the layers or shape like Mel. She did a great job every time and makes excellent and easy conversation. She is a total badass and I miss that peace of mind knowing exactly who to schedule with when I needed a haircut.

    Lauren gave me a great haircut! She catered to my hair type and was so sweet! I’m growing out a buzz cut and it’s difficult to style my hair but Lauren just made my life so much easier. The salon is very laid back but beautiful and everyone is so sweet!

    I have been here twice now and have always had a great experience. I absolutely loved my haircut and everyone was very nice. My stylist is Melanie and she does an excellent job. She is very detailed and makes sure that your hair is just right. I will be going back for another haircut soon!

    Lauren is by far the best hairstylist I have ever been to! She is a skilled colorist and somehow manages to keep my hair smooth and healthy through my frequent color changes from blonde to silver to purple to rainbow and back again. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Lauren for over 3 years, and she is the only person I trust to do an exceptional job on my hair every time. Not only is she extremely knowledgable about haircare, she has an incredible personality as well! Lauren is bright, warm, and hilarious. Thank you for making me feel fabulous, Lauren!

    This is by far the best place Ive ever gotten my hair done! I have long thick hair and I like to get blonde highlights and Robin is the only person who has made my highlights look natural! She always listens to what I want and is a perfectionist. Im graduating in a week and moving away and am considering driving 3 hours to get my hair done by her. Would recommend this place to anyone- very professional, close to campus, affordable, and great quality.

    Melanie is amazing here! First I got my hair cut from below my shoulders to my chin. She did an amazing job. She is very detail oriented. I also recently got my hair cut with an undercut and bleached blonde. She made sure the blonde was exactly right with 3 toners. She is also very nice and easy to talk to. Makes me less nervous about doing crazy things to my hair!

    Melanie, Melanie, Melanie! She did my hair for my wedding (loved it) and has cut it several times (I dont get my hair cut often). She listens and is very methodical and careful. She has such a serene personality, in addition to a great cut I feel relaxed afterwards as well!

    This was the first time I have had my hair cut in Gainesville, and I am so glad I was referred here. Lauren was just amazing. I have thick filipino hair and she knew the exact cut I was looking for and restored my hair color to its dark brown color without ruining my hairs health. Lauren has shown that she has experience in handling multi-ethnic hair. She definitely made my experience at Salon 716 worthwhile. I recommend this salon to anyone who is new to the area and looking for a reliable hair salon/skeptical switching hair stylists.

    Melanie is a real gem!!! So talented and creative. She always makes my hair look fabulous. I get so many compliments on my hair because of this woman. Make an appointment with her, you wont regret it!

    I can only speak of my experience with my stylist, Erin, and the front desk person. Always helpful, always considerate, and always a pleasure to work with. I have difficult hair, so I think Erin may be soke kind of witch or hair-whisperer or something...shes just wonderful.

    Erin is amazing! It took me forever to feel like I could trust someone with my pixie in a new city once I moved to Gainesville. I just went blonde, which is a first for me, and Erin did a fantastic job handling my hair for a bleach and tone. Highly recommend for short hair!

    The salon is comfortable and welcoming, even to men. They do everything from cut to coloring, but it never smells like a chemical spill. My hair dresser is amazing, and I believe thats normal among the regular, long time staff here.

    They always have coffee, tea and some lovely baked goods. Robin cuts my hair better than anyone has ever cut my hair, and Im from New York City so that says a lot. Its a bit pricey but worth it.

    Melanie does the most amazing vivid/ wild color work Ive seen in Gainesville. Ive tried Ulta, Mode and a couple others but Melanie at Salon at 716 is the best.Her knowledge and range of technique is vast and shes honest about whats possible and whats the probable outcome of attempting some things and what may be a multi step process.Shes never led me wrong and Ive been asking for fun wild colors since day one. She uses quality products and the one time we tried a new line and it didnt hold, it took one phone call and I was back in the chair within 24 hours to fix it.Ive watched the amazing stylists in the shop transform clients into smiling happy folks so many times that I dont think you could go wrong with any of them. From short to long cuts and color treatments of all kinds they do it and do it well. (Ive never cringed watching someone leave)O.k. the other real important part. It doesnt break the bank or make my wallet cry. My hair is medium long. Depending on the visit Im doing anything from a root fill and a trim to a triple process with a hair cut. With (what i hope/think is a) generous tip I spend between 150 and 250. My colors hold for the entire five to six wks between visits and I could stretch that longer if it wasnt for the roots growing out.
