    Jayme is amazing! I was very nervous to get my first curly cut, but I couldn’t have chosen a better stylist to book with. Jayme was extremely helpful in explaining what my hair needs, what I should change in my routine, and explained each step in the styling process. My hair was long, well over due for a hair cut, and very frizzy. Jayme helped me understand exactly what my curly hair needed to have the hydrated, defined and bouncy curls I wanted. Besides the amazing customer service and attention to detail, his services are well priced and worth every penny. I would 1000% recommend Jayme for other curly heads, especially if you need some guidance.

    I mean the results speak for themselves. Went in and requested “round, bangs, big” and they DELIVERED!! I’ve been to many salons and VERY few actually do a curly cut and style the way I like - but this salon has EXCEEDED my expectations hands down. 1000/10. If any of yall have ever gotten a “curly” cut before and left with finger ringlets… they do NOT do that here which makes me love this place even more!! I live in Tallahassee, but I will drive that 2+ hours to get my hair done here again!! The environment was phenomenal! It was cute and personal which made it cozy! Thank yall 🥰

    I dont typically write a review, but I had to for Bad Apple.We moved to the Jacksonville area almost a year and a half ago. I searched high and low to find a hairdresser who is trained to cut curly hair for my 13 years old daughter.We tried several hairdressers but no one seemed to know how to cut curly hair. We were left disappointed and started the search for another person.I finally found Bad Apple through a Google search for Deva Curl Trainer hairdresser. I tried several times to book an appointment with Bad Apple but they were always hooked up.I got lucky and was able to schedule an appointment with Jayme.I explained to him the goal I had with my daughters hair and every step of the way he walked us through the process. He taught us the correct way to style curly hair and the best products to use. My daughter left confident with the knowledge she learned how to style her hair.If you are looking for a great Deva trained hairdresser look no further and book with Jayme. You won’t regret it.

    Jayme is a magician!! I got a pretty big chunk cut off and he did EXACTLY what I dreamed of. So perfect. I love it love it LOVE IT!Look at that COLOR!!!! I love the red! It’s actually a purpley kind of red. The color is absolutely spot on. I think it’s so cool.Jayme is a high end hairstylist. He does such an incredible job. I feel like he really cares, too. He doesn’t rush through the appointment to get on with his day. He took the time to make sure it’s perfect. I greatly appreciate that, and he’s so nice too of course! :)Fun time.     This was my first time getting a “curly cut” by a hairdresser (should say magician) who knows how to handle and cut my curls. Jayme was very nice, and knowledgeable, and he really listened to what I was look for. I highly recommend his services. I have never paid this much for a cut, however, the results are well worth every penny!

    Wonderful experience in the cutest salon. I chose Bad Apple because of Jayme’s versatility in hair types and textures.     I have extreeeemely thick 3c/4a hair. Its hard for me to find a stylist that can manage my hair. I was nervous at first to see Lee but I really wanted to try the Deva cut to add some shape to my long non layered curls. I went in for a consultation & Lee advised he was not intimidated by my hair which calmed my nerves slightly. Fast forward to the day of my appointment- This is the best cut I have ever received! He also taught me how the correct way to detangle and style my hair which is making my curls come alive more and more as I continue to follow his steps. (SN: My detangle time has been cut in half - Hallelujah!). I am extremely satisfied with the service I received here (The affordable price & friendliness of the staff was an added bonus) and will be making Lee my go-to stylist. If you are nervous at all & are like me with what you would consider thick/course/curly hair, trust me, Lee wont disappoint you.

    Its really hard for me to trust anyone with my hair, but Jayme definitely won my heart. I came in with a mess of curls and a list of bad habits that i *thought* were best for my hair. In about 2 hours Jayme transformed not only my curls, but my entire outlook on them. What impressed me most about him was his ability to educate me on the best ways to care for my hair, from scrunching techniques, curl families, the best way to apply product to my hair, how much to use, and did so without ever passing judgement on my old bad habits.     I took my curly headed 7 year old to Jayme at Bad Apple Beauty and both she and I are in awe! This was her first hair salon experience, and as long as Jayme is in business, he will be the only person I’ll ever allow to touch her hair aside from me. He taught her and me how to properly wash, brush, and style her bouncy curls, and was so sweet and patient with her. Just the simple fact that he took the time to actually teach us how to care for her hair stood out to me. He never tried to push products or have me buy things he sold in his salon.

    Jayme knows his work. I have curly hair and he gave me a great, easy-to-care-for, non-wet haircut on my first appointment. On my second visit, he gave my graying locks new life with highlights, low lights, and blonde, and brought back my natural brown (he matched my eyebrows!).     I am new to the area but after reading reviews I decided to give Jayme a try. My experience today was wonderful. The salon was very clean. Jayme listened and gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. My hair is colored with hi lights and lowlights and glossing. His color was exceptional with a great cut.     Jayme is simply amazing. I cannot recommend him enough. He is knowledgeable and you can tell he cares about hair in general but mostly he cares about how you want to feel about your hair and what your end-game is. He will ask you a ton of questions to assess what you need and will come up with the perfect reality based solution for your hair type. I have shoulder length curly hair and Jayme got my hair feeling & looking healthy again after years of dullness & dryness. But my biggest takeaway was he educated me on MY HAIR and debunked alot of bad practices, information & products out there. He also gave me quick tips that I used at home and saw IMMEDIATE improvement in my texture. BOOK YOUR APT ASAP.     Had such a great experience with Jayme! I brought him quite a project - hadnt had my hair cut in a LONG time and the color was yucky. He did such an amazing job of getting me back to looking good.     Wow! The experience I had with Jayme today getting my curly hair cut was amazing. He really took the time to educate me on how to help my curls. I spent the better part of the last two years damaging them with dyes and bleach. If you have curly hair you know that there is so much information out there and it can be overwhelming.     I have 3b/3c curly hair and Jayme gave me the best curly cut and all over color. He spent several hours and never did I feel that he was rushed or trying to cut any corners. I have also never had anyone take the time to teach me about how to care for my curls! I should’ve taken notes to get all the recommendations he gave me haha. I went to him after realizing that the hairstylist who had been doing my curly cuts (and is supposed to be Deva certified) wasn’t cutting my hair evenly. Jayme fixed it with no problem. Seriously, he is a master at his craft. I recommend him 100%!!

    Omg expectations were exceeded! I walked in wanting a Deva cut.     Jayme is the best hair stylist in Jacksonville! I went to him in my 20’s. He was there for me when I was in crisis and needed bangs, he also gave me my first Mom haircut. He’s professional and progressive. If your not afraid to try something new go to Jayme. My only problem is that he is hard to get into because the secret is out and I have had to cheat on him because he books up quickly. I’m turning 40 and I know I can count on him to not let me down.

    Had my first deva cut today and it was more than I expected! Lee listened to my wishes, cut my hair perfectly and then during the wash he educated me on tips to reduce frizz and help the curls stay defined longer. I left with perfectly styled hair, I didn’t have to come home and “fix” it like I’ve had to do in the past. Highly recommend Shampoo, everyone was friendly and welcoming.     Absolutely amazing!! I decided to do a drastic cut (from hair to my waist, to a pixie cut) so I was understandably nervous. I did some research and decided to make an Appointment with Lee at Shampoo Hair Salon. He was absolutely incredible. He listened to everything I had to say, everything I wanted, and didnt want. Because this was such a drastic change, Lee explained every step to me before he did it. That way I wasnt surprised and it kept me in the loop. Although I had full control of how I wanted my hair done (as made obvious by his talking me through it) I gave him artistic range to do what he felt best. I am so glad I did! He made a couple choices that I wasnt sure about, and they came out AMAZING! Thats why he is the expert. Also, I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg for this cut, the prices were incredible, Ive paid more for a trim in the past! I could not recommend Lee and Shampoo Hair Salon more. Thank you Lee!

    Ive been a regular client of Jayme since 2012, and Ive never once had anything but phenomenal experiences at Shampoo Cut and Color Studio. I first saw Jayme after I tried to remove boxed color myself, and ended up with moss green hair. I called, and was able to get an appointment the next day for a color correction and cut. I left the next day with gorgeous purple hair (the original goal) and I have not had a bad haircut or color since then.Yes, they are a small business, so you might not be able to get an appointment for the same day, but being patient will benefit you!!! In the dozens of times Ive had my hair done there, Ive never seen a frown or walked out disappointed. I would give ten stars if I could.

    I just want to start off this review by saying this salon is the best place!!!!! I mistakenly let a drunk girlfriend cut my hair and lets just say the cut you get as a child that you instantly regret had nothing on this disaster. I decided to look around and noticed this place had great reviews. I called the salon and the owner not only was very sweet and understanding, he managed to squeeze me in at the end of the day. I got my hair done by APRIL, who I have to say is an angel from Heaven. She was so sweet, funny and did the best job in the world!! She gave great advice on cuts for certain faces, great styling tips, and honest feedback. I will never go to anyone else. I am supposed to be moving to Atlanta and will still travel the 5hrs back down to Jax just for this woman!!! If you still have any doubts about where to go, throw them out the window, pick up the phone and schedule and appointment! Thank you Shampoo Hair Salon and April for making my hair look great again!

    I had a Devacut yesterday with Lee. He did an absolutely incredible job on my 3C natural hair. He cut curl by curl, making sure to explain what he was doing. My hair looked good when I left, but it looked AMAZING when it dried to full volume. Although he only trimmed off a tiny bit, the amount of volume from the shaping cut was mind-blowing.Each time I pick a new salon that claims they know how to cut my hair, I give the stylist a one-time shot. If they blow it, they will never see me again. Lee treated my curls with as much love and care as I would, and it shows! He is now my hairstylist for life. I hope he never moves, because Ill have to follow him.Highly recommend Shampoo for naturalistas looking for someone who actually knows what theyre doing with black hair.

    Got my first Deva Cut. Jessica did a wonderful job cutting my curly hair dry as it should be done on curly hair in case you are wondering.     This was my first deva cut and I’m so beyond satisfied with the whole experience! Lee was my stylist and after reading such great reviews about him I took the plunge and got the deva cut.     ***Hello Keratin Treatment... where have you been all my life.....***Just like alot of other people. I was sucked into the color craze. Going from dark brown color treated hair to platinum blond to get those magical mermaid locks. After a year of multiple bleachings, strippings and changing colors every 3 to 4 weeks, the state of my hair suffered drastically..... even after a year of no bleach, no color and many many trimmings, my hair was still dry, dull, frizzy and unruly. Then Jayme suggested a Keratin treatment. OMG. What a DRAMATIC difference. My hair looks shiny, silky, and frizz free. But the most drastic difference is, my hair is so SOFT !
