    Started from the bottom, now were here! - George WashingtonDiesel Barbershop is conveniently located near St. Johns Town Center, but not in the middle of all that traffic mess.As you walk into Diesel you will probably notice that the atmosphere is awesome! Each barber station has its own dedicated TV in case you are really trying to catch your favorite daytime soap or the Kansas City Chiefs beat down the Houston Texans. There are three classic arcade games that are free to play. You can try your hand at Frogger, Space Invaders, or Donkey Kong. They also have corn hole! Each patron can get a yummy beer with their chosen service, so I definitely did treat myself. You can also request specific songs to play using an app called Rockbot. I thought this was super cool!My dope barber, Brie, was as nice as could be. I opted for the Diesel Plus and Brie rocked it. She gave me a smooth and professional cut around the sides with two hard parts on the sides. I didnt want to touch the top since I am growing my fro out, so our haircut was short and sweet. The neck shave was really nice and is always one of my favorite parts of visiting any barber, but Brie did it really well. The hot towel hair wash was also really nice. I really did feel rejuvenated after. To top off an already epic haircut Brie became part machine by grabbing a handheld massage machine and massaging my shoulders. That part was really dope.I didnt need any product afterwards since I was just going home to my wife, but Brie added some moisturizer so my hair would smell great and I loved it.Diesel is the IT barbershop. I have a feeling that Diesel will be around a good long time, because it is just plain wonderful. They have taken the worst part of getting a haircut, waiting, and turned it into a strength by offering fun activities to pass your time.The service is top notch and prices are competitive for all that you get. I dont get a haircut all that often, but this is going to be my place!

    This was easily the best haircut and barber experience I have ever had! DeAnna was amazing and asked me questions about my hair I didnt even know the answer to which shows how detail-oriented she is. She asked for my input every step of the way and the end result was incredible! Shes also very personable and made the haircut even more enjoyable as a result!

    First time coming into the barbershop and it was a great time. If youre looking for a clean fade whether it be high, low, or in between ask for Troy hell hook you up and have your hair looking on point. Definitely will be returning for future haircuts.

    Deanna is the bomb. I’m fairly new to Jax and tried a lot of different barbers in the area. No one could get it the way I wanted (skin fade, blended and messy on top, more bangs than back of head). She listened and nailed it. Perfect. She will be my barber for as long as possible

    My first walk in (am) to this nice clean and spacious barber shop. Greeted by a friendly staff and was seated at once. Hair was expertly cut. Did not care for the hot towel treatment , the shampooing was very uncomfortable for a senior citizen (70+) and the 20 second massage by running a vibrating device from one shoulder to the other is not what I am used to and did not justify the price of $35. ( Too early for me to accept the local craft beer offering which is part of the package).

    This place is ok. Its fun that they offer you a beer or something else to drink when you walk in. I would give them another go. I felt very neutral about my last hair cut here. Im pretty direct and clear with the directions I give for what I want and the person I had sort of listened. I would try again with another stylist but overall decent haircut. 4 stars for the vibe and amenities.

    From the moment I walked in, I could tell this barbershop was perfect for me. Friendly customer service as I waited for my appointment. Asked if I wanted a cold drink while I waited; enjoyed a local craft beer. The hairstylist did an amazing job, especially since it was my first haircut in 18-months. I gave her free reign and my hair turned out fabulous. She also did a great job trimming and cleaning up my beard. Will definitely be back again.

    I visited this shop yesterday for the 1st time and I have to say it was the BEST EXPERIENCE Ive ever had inside of a barbershop. The barber I saw was Kris. He did a great job on the lineup and overall cut. Been with him for a while and hes consistently provided excellent cuts. Kristin was in the shop as well and she helped create a welcoming atmosphere. The overall layout of the shop itself is unique. Ive never been in a place that offered free drinks, free vintage games AND ESPN! The experience was well worth it and I know Ill be coming back again!

    First time visiting the Diesel Barbershop (Gate PKWY) yesterday..... I read a few reviews online and decided to give it a try, as I have been to numerous other places in the area. This place exceeded them allI signed up for an appointment online and was assigned to a random associate (Carol). I arrived a few minutes early and as soon as I walked in the door I was offered a drink (water, soda, beer, etc.) and was informed it would be about 10 mins until Carol was ready. About 5 mins in, another associate came around to ask if I needed anything while I waited, all very nice people!The service which I received from Carol was great! She was very courteous and professional, mentioned she was particular in how she cut her clients hair to ensure they were satisfied. It had been a long time since my last haircut, she took time to understand what I wanted and made sure I was happy with it.Yes, its a little pricey, $35... but considering the service you get (haircut, neck shave, shampoo, hot towel and scalp/shoulder massage) its a great value! Other places in the area charge $30 and all you get is a quick 5 minute haircut.This barbershop is very well run and I will continue coming back

    First time visiting last night, and I was greeted with metal music and offered a beer. Absolutely fantastic. DeAngelo was awesome and worked some major magic on the mop and askew beard I came in with. I imagine my life is going to be similar to those old Axe commercials where women flock to and surround me 24/7. Will report back with results. Definitely coming back. Get DeAngelo as your stylist. Chats with you but not so much youre like alright man youre friendly I get it. Cracked some jokes and sent me on my way looking like Prince Philip before the hair loss. 10/10 dentists recommend.(sorry posted the last one from the work page, had to redo it)

    Been bouncing around Jax looking for a new Barber, hit the classics like Pomade and Tonic (great but far away) and House of Shaves (completely changed staff) and finally found this perfect piece of heaven.Amazing atmosphere with free to play arcade cabinets, and free local beer, but honestly DeeĀnna was the best part.She did an absolutely phenomenal job cutting my hair, cleaning up my beard, and was just genuinely pleasant conversation with above and beyond customer service. Its my first time coming to Diesel, (a new barber shop is always a little nerve-wracking) but she listened and did exactly what I asked, perfectly.I will be coming back, and telling all my friends to come see her to get right.

    First time here today with Maria at 11:30! While there was a bit of a wait, I realized it was the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Expect a slight delay especially during the weekends. That said, these folks are working hard to get their chairs turned around! She did an awesome job with my hair.     Its worth the extra drive to come here. Carol does an outstanding job on whatever I need done. She takes the time to get it done right, never rushed, and is always in a great mood. Easily the best place Ive ever been to get a cut or wax. The free beer and unique atmosphere are also a plus.

    Ive had my haircut at Diesel many times now at Gate Pkwy location in Jax, FL. Its nice, clean and professionally managed. Each time Kristin has been my stylist. In short, she rates a 10 out of 10 on my scale. She is pleasant, courteous and her work area is pristine. She is not pushy or overly talkative. Yet shes up to having easy and fun conversation. Last, I will mention she is efficient with my time - she perfectly balances my duel needs of getting a great cut without costing too much time!

    My son loves getting his haircut here. It is a bit expensive for a kid’s haircut. However, we have been going here for almost two years and have never had a bad haircut and always a pleasant experience. My husband goes here too now. Plus, my son gets a soda (special treat) when he comes, and if you are 21 you can get a beer

    Went here for the first time the other day. I had gotten tired of doing the Hair Cuttery and Supercuts circuit and being constantly frustrated by the lack of consistency and not knowing what kind of cut Id walk out of there with. My niece referred me to DeAnna at Deisel. WOW what a pleasant experience!!! It was honestly one of the best haircuts Ive ever had and the atmosphere is great. The price point was a bit higher than the chain hair cut places, but theres definitely a reason for that. The small added touches really make a difference. Thanks again DeAnna!

    I went there for my barber Kris as he moved. Solid barber that id recommend to anyone. The owner and other employees were very welcoming and the place had a good scene as well. I love the location of the store as well. My only constructive feedback would be offer a price minus the shampoo/conditioner, hot towel & massage. If people just want to come in for the cut. I don’t think it would hurt. Just another option for people to choose from.

    Ive been going to the same barber for a long time. However, it was time for a change. Decided to try Diesel out since it is close to the house. My son and I went there on a Saturday morning and had a great experience. Genine cut my hair and Maria took care of my son. Genine did a nice job smoothing out the short sides and slightly longer top. Maria also did a great job and my sons hair has never looked better. We will return!

Ezra did a tremendous job of wrangling my wayward double cowlick, something thats confused many of my past barbers.     Just left Diesel Barbershop. Great location near town center Jacksonville. Always friendly staff, great also if you like sports always on their TVs on the wall.     Diesel is awesome! Deanna gave me a perfect cut! She was easy to talk to, funny, and professional.When I arrived I was given my choice of drink. I had a local IPA and watched football while I waited for my appt. I didn’t sit down right at my appt time, but that doesn’t bother me (unlike other reviewers here) because it tells me that they aren’t rushing through a cut just to get to another client. The whole experience was great. I’ve never been to a dudes spa (if there is such a thing) but this must be what it feels like. $35 was well worth it.This is my new place. Won’t go anywhere else in Jax.

    This place is great! I stopped by another barber shop after work to get a haircut, and long story-short, it was the worst haircut of my life, I looked like a cómodo dragón. Shortly after leaving the first place, I called Diesel Barber shop to ask if they could fix what had happened. They did a great job, and were very hospitable! I would definitely recommend Diesel Barber Shop to anyone looking for a quality haircut.

    First Ill say I loved the hair cut. Very well done job. However, very expensive and I didnt even get most of the stuff (to clarify I turned it down). If you offered a different package so I could just get a haircut for like $20-28 I would be a regular. Because not everyone wants a wash and all the other unnecessary stuff. (Another clarification is that they are very clear upfront about the price for the most part. Just watch out for the extra price for a fade.)

    Came here after my barber moved away and hadn’t had work done in a minute. Ramon made sure I left looking like a brand new person. Spent a little more than my average cut by about 10 dollars more, but never had an experience like that one before so I’m fine with the upcharge. I’m sure I’ll be back to see Ramon soon.
