Just had my hair done at the River City Marketplace location. I felt very comfortable with Marenda. She is very skilled in her craft. I definitely recommend her to others. Shes quite talented and can work on various textures of hair if you get what Im saying. She does it all. Easy to converse with as well. You wont be disappointed!

Often people will rag on “Big Box” places like Hair Cuttery, which may sometimes bear some truth. In the case of this location though, they match the quality of the top barbers in the area.I needed a haircut at a time where my regular barber was unavoidably not available. This location was able to get me taken care of as a walk in. My stylist was attentive to my needs and was adept at being able to work with me to get the style I desired.

I went here for the first time today and my experience was great. The individual that checked me in was really friendly and my stylist Renee, did a great job on my hair. She did exactly what I wanted and she was friendly and easy to talk to. I was so satisfied with my experience that I went ahead and booked my next appt.

My feedback is about managing wait time better and handling booked appointments versus accepting walk-ins . The manager apologized for it because I requested to speak with her at the end, but the apologies and explanations should have happened from the beginning . On the other hand , Gabrielle, my stylist took care of me gracefully . While she was not my initial stylist , she managed between her scheduled appointments and me with respect . She did a great job , and I recommend her 100%. She deserves 5 stars ,and she made the whole experience better on the things that she had control over .

Gabby at HC at RiverCity Market place Rocks! I followed her from a beach location to continue cutting my hair, we all know finding a good stylist is golden. Gabby always ask how you want your hair cut even if you been to her before, gives her professional opinion on wether that would work for you and explains why or why not. Let her do her craft and I promise you wont be sorry. I get so many compliments on my hair cuts from Gabby. She is worth the drive. Peace!

Was originally supposed to come here in May. Ended up doing something else. Decided to give it another try. Came in Tuesday to ask for an appointment Friday. Set it up and came back after an appointment Friday at 11. My stylist was awesome. She shaved my sides and mixed two colors to get a nice blue/green color on my deathhawk hairstyle. She washed my hair. Used a nice conditioner to help my scalp. We didnt have to bleach, so we straight dyed. Kept my darker roots, which she called shadow root, and dyed above it. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely go back. Definitely recommend making an appointment. They get busy. She took a few clients while I was waiting for my color to set. I was able to use a coupon for my color to get a little bit off. I will definitely be back in the future.

I walked in today expecting a simple haircut in and out.... What I got was something that exceeded my expectations in every way. Before I could even manage to sit down a staff member approached me and asked me if I had an appointment to which I had none.Fortunately this wasnt a problem, because I was lucky enough to have Marenda be my stylist today. She carefully listen to what I wanted she had a very soft touch and it made me feel comfortable right away she was easy to talk to and made the experience very enjoyable.I dont think Ive ever had a haircut so clean and so fresh while having such an enjoyable experience.Thank You Marenda!

Incredible customer service! My daughter has autism spectrum disorder, and she does not like loud noises. Ms. Renee and Ms. Glenda were very accommodating and set up a small room so my daughter could have her hair cut away from the loud noise. Even with all the wiggling, Ms. Renee gave my daughter a beautiful cut! Thank you, so much for making this experience so pleasant and stress-free!

I’m 61 years young. I had my hair cut many times over my young years. I’ve never met anyone who truly cared to listen to me like Dale. Dale made me feel like just two friends chatting about hair cuts. Dale found out the things about a haircut that was important to me. I was so at ease with Dale. Went into hair cuttery not expecting much, wanted my hair colored a light red. I was first serviced by Ann. So sweet! I explained to her that I had gotten box dye about a week beforehand, didn’t care for the results so I wanted to see if I could get it dyed over. She went ahead and done a test strip which then gave me the go ahead to bleach and dye. While Ann didn’t do the coloring process, she did do my haircut- wolf cut. AMAZING. Then it was Sheila’s turn. Told her the same things and she went ahead and dyed my hair exactly how I wanted it ! Irish Setter Red, beautiful color! In the mean time of dying my hair, Sheila was so good at conversation, it really made the time fly even though I didn’t chat much. 10/10 experience! Will be going back!

For the last 4 years, Stephanie has been awesome! Easy to find an appointment and the precision, creativity, experience, and dedication she has to cut hair are talents not easily found. Prices for haircuts are reasonable. Would not do keratin treatment there, for short hair, about 4 inches from scalp, and in the back maybe 3 inches of hair, almost $200. I hope they get into Groupon and offer discounts for that!

She has done my wash, roller set, layered cut, perm, and treatment for me and she nailed all of it. I am so happy to make her and this location my permanent spot in Jacksonville. 10/10 recommend

I have see Tood sense day one and my son both get hair cuts from him, He is very professional and on my last visit he recommended a new style and it was excellent and I have recommended 7 friends of which 4 of them see Tood and 3 others see different other hairstyles there , All I can say is the Hair Cuttery at river City Market Place has the best Hairstyles around, Tood being the BEST one there, if you try Tood you wont. Be disappointed, Tood is very detailed and to be very honest. He deserves a raise for the professional jobs he does.

Ive been down here for 3 years, thats 3 years of terrible hair cuts, fried hair, chemical cuts, wash, rinse, repeat. Today I was in River City and I was like you know what let me run into this spot quick and see if they have time for me and my husband. Im not gonna lie, I was expecting the absolute worst like usual. So I go in and they have time on Xmas eve. I was like umm- is that a bad thing? So I go and I sit in Suns chair. Im telling her what I want. Expecting her to have to tell me that shes gonna have to cut my hair off at my chin. She said she had me and let me tell you, she had me and got me right! And she only had to take off like 1/2 an inch and my 1st layer is at my chin! I asked for layers and side bangs- I got them and they were done right and I can wear it parted or side parted and theyre the same length. They have olaplex too! And she has my hair so soft! This is the best hair cut Ive had since Ive moved! Thank you Sun! The lady (Aalia)who did my husbands hair did amazing too! She did his face and brows as well and had him looking amazing! (He usually goes to a barber). Thank you for getting him photo ready for the holiday!

I usually get an amazing haircut, but thats only when I go to the same stylist over and over. They give amazing haircuts, Im just very picky with my hair to give it 5 stars! Everyone is so friendly and helpful but wait times can be a little extra, if your going for a last minute, haircut. Best results and to skip the line is to set an appointment, 1 week in advanced!!

I came in with a picture of the color I wanted and a picture of the cut I wanted. Bri was the next stylist in line and she said she could make it happen. It was a 3 step process to go from my mousy brown to the vivid black and blue in the picture I showed her. She did a fabulous job and I couldnt be happier about the way the color turned out. She made suggestions for products to keep the color vivid and Ill definitely make an appointment with her for my next visit

My rating is based on my experience with Crystal. Crystal has been cutting my hair for almost three years every three weeks, thats about 50 times. Every single time I get treated very well. She does an excellent job and treats me like a friend. My interactions with the other stylists are positive but I wont let anyone else cut my hair out of loyalty to her because she is excellent at her craft and is friendly.

Robert is the best! Went here with my husband to get his hair cut & decided to get mine cut as well. Robert was the 1st available & I am so glad he was because he is amazing! I am extremely picky about my hair & who touches my hair. I ended up getting a cut and highlights that day and have been going to him now for about 6 months. He has cut my hair several times since, done highlights, colored it 4 weeks ago and today cut it again for me. I always change up how I want it cut a little, he always listens and he always gets it right. I will be sticking with him!

Let me just start off by saying I have curly hair. Curly, thick, doesnt know what it wants hair. So, Im always skeptical of going in to big chain salons because of a previous bad experience with someone who didnt know how to cut curly hair (I ended up looking like an evil minion from despicable me). My personal stylist was on vacation and my hair just couldnt wait. I went in with low expectations, and just figured that if anything bad happened, I would just keep my hair in a ponytail until it grows out. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and was greeted with a big smile and a wonderful compliment (She said my curls were beautiful) from my stylist Sunserious, or Sun as she asked to be called. Sun was so wonderful! She listening to everything I wanted, making sure to really look at my pictures to understand what was important to me when it came to the cut.She did cut my hair wet, which I honestly prefer, as my curls are more apparent when theyre wet, but she compensated for it by leaving it a little long so it would still be long enough for my ponytail (my only rule ) when it shrank. I was even more impressed when she used a sulfate free shampoo on me without me even telling her that I was using the curly girl method. She engaged me the whole time, even asking me at one point if the length was looking okay.When my hair was finally finished, she didnt push me to blowdry, which is a huge deal to me. It may seem stupid, but all my life Ive been pushed to straighten my hair after a cut, even though I were my hair curly. She put product in it, scrunched my hair in the way she saw me do, and let me play around with it.I am not only completely in love with my cut, but also with my stylist. She made my hair look and feel healthy and bouncy, and was super attentive. I will definitely be returning back to her! And the price was AMAZING for the work that was done.

Wanted to get my hair cut short. My hair was shedding like crazy & I felt like I needed to cut it short & start over so it all can be healthy all over & not just in sections. Didnt Want to go to a local salon & be there all day so I decided to try here since I knew Id probably be in-and-out within a hour or so .. read the reviews & made my appt with Stephanie.. she greeted me, educated me on my hair, treated it & cut it for me * abt 2 hrs.. Stephanie did an overall good job.. hair feels healthy & has a lot of body.. If youre counting your coins then make sure you get the cost before you start. I knew it probably would be more for me since I was getting some extras & so it really didnt matter to me.. I spent almost 65$ with my $5 off coupon for a silk style so make sure you double check the prices. Also ask what you get for a basic shampoo, cut & blowdry, Im natural & this wasnt going to work for me .. I think had I had a relaxer I wouldve really liked my cut & maybe went shorter. Its just an adjustment to have short hair.. But since this is a start over for me the cut does the job.. Overall happy with the service provided. Stephanie seemed to be well rounded in all hair types.. FYI** now there was another stylist there & my motto is if the stylist hair is hacked & jacked & they tell you they do their own hair uhmm what will mine look like, so ask ?s. Go see MJ!!!! My hair was an absolute wreck after not having a cut for over a year. Frizzy, dead ends, tangles all over the place, dull, lifeless. She cut bangs for me-perfectly- and put just the right amount of layers in my hair. Hands down the best haircut I have ever had, and usually I visit high end salons! You have to know this: TIFFANY is the best for blow outs!! There are two people there with the same name so pay attention to the spelling : TIFFANY. I have very long, thick, natural ethnic hair. By long, I mean more than 24 inches in length (mixed race). It’s funny seeing the looks I get when I first walk in a hair styling place because of the amount of thick hair I have. Lol But Tiffany (with her laid back demeanor) just smiled and said Ok I’ll be doing your blow out. Every blow out I’ve ever had lasted about 2 weeks due to humidity and moisture in Florida. And I was actually flying to Washington DC every few months to get a decent blow out when I visited friends there. But Tiffany gave me a blow out on October 12, 2017 and my hair is still straight and “tame” AFTER FOUR MONTHS!!! My friends and family do not believe this.. and they all know I’ll never get a relaxer - so yes. It’s true. Granted, i haven’t had a shampoo since Oct 2017 but I’m not using ANY product whatsoever (she obviously used something super when she did the blow-out) so it’s not dirty and no build up at all. I keep it covered during rainy days and wear heavy shower caps - but other than that, I don’t know how it’s lasting this long. THANK YOU TIFFANY! I will be there soon for a re-do!!
