In almost no time at all, I was seated in the barber seat.My barber, Bri, was absolutely fantastic. When I came in, I had a general idea of what I wanted, but I wasnt sure of exactly what I wanted to do. She gave me her expert opinion on what we could go with- explaining everything to me in detail, and I couldnt have been happier with the outcome!!For over a year, I have been looking for a barber shop, and I have gone to multiple places, but up until now, I hadnt found somewhere I was genuinely pleased with.House of Shaves, however, was absolutely fantastic, from the cleanliness of the shop to the wonderful and skilled people working there.I will certainly be going back again for my next haircut! 10/10

Really happy with my haircut! The appointment started on time and they’re open on a Sunday which is really handy for my schedule. Decided to opt for the monthly membership so that I know I can come once a month and just book it in advance after each haircut. So I’ll be back monthly from now on! Was given a friendly greeting when I stepped in the door. Did not wait more than a few minutes for my barber (Bri) to introduce herself. The barbershop is clean and organized. This is an excellent place to get your haircut. They might be a few dollars more, but its worth it. Theres plenty of parking in the garage and they validate, so bring your ticket in. Appointments are preferred and recommended. There are beverages and massage chairs while you wait. Theres also memberships available, if youll be going often. They do sell hair and beard products. They always have a good variety of music playing.

Been going to House of Shaves for awhile now, more so since they opened a location in Riverside. The staff are all always welcoming, friendly, masters at their craft, and always operating at 100%. Always confident I’m gonna get an amazing cut no matter who does it. Special shout out to Christie, she is simply stellar. I’ve Been scheduling with her regularly for a good while now. She is AMAZING! (Full stop). I was never one to schedule regular appointments with a preferred Barber, and she converted me instantly. She initially understood and delivered exactly what I wanted (despite my ability to verbalize it) the very first time, and now she gives me exactly what I want without me having to ask. If you don’t know what that feels like, you don’t know what you are missing. Go and find you your Christie, you won’t regret it.

My first time at House of Shaves, Christie was phenomenal! I can’t lie I was kind of nervous walking into a new barber shop since my barber was out of town for the holiday. I’ve seen this place over and over again since I eat at the restaurant next door. Can honestly say I was blown away from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. It has a nice home old style barber feel and smell to it. But still pretty modern. Conversations was good. The vibes was great. I’m not sure who the other barber was in there but she had a cool vibe with her customers too. Service was great too! Having a bald head not many people can work a straight razor but I think she did a great job. I hope to be back more often. I appreciate Christie and thankful that I was able to get an appointment! House of Shaves is a great place to be!

If you go to riverside ask for Alex! He offered us advice on hair and beard styling based on how our hair grows. Most places just ask how you want it and cut and thats it. Hot towel steam and blade shave is always nice and relaxing as well.

As always, a fantastic haircut. Nothing like being cleaned up at the end with a straight edge razor. If you’re looking for a professional relaxed environment, this is it. Absolutely fantastic service. Ive been to a handful of barbers, but never have I had a cut maintain as well and as easily as when I visit Kate at House of Shaves.The location is easy to miss when driving by, but just as easy to get to and a nearby parking garage solves the typical problem of on-street parking in Riverside. They have some minor refreshments while you wait, but Ive been fortunate in scheduling during atypical times (joys of working from home), so Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes. The staff is a pleasure to talk with, and theyre more than willing to answer any grooming questions you might have (beards take a little TLC), and also have a selection of products for sale if you happen to like anything they use during your visit. An even bigger plus to me is that they take the role of informative without resorting to pushy sales tactics, letting you decide what you want and if you want it.The biggest endorsement I can give is that my beard has never looked better, and for longer, than coming here. Usually, about 3-4 weeks after a trim, I feel the need to take matters into my own hands because its started to look off for one reason or another. The first visit needed no upkeep for almost 2 months, aside from a slight self-trim of the mustache. Furthermore, when I accidentally took too much, Kate was able to almost entirely fix my mistake while keeping the same look Ive come to expect.I cant recommend them enough. If youre looking for a new barber, and especially if you like hot-towel shaves with a straight razor like I do, they are simply amazing.Thanks a lot guys!
