    Nam is who my family and I go to. She has been cutting hair for many years & it shows. Her haircuts are phenomenal & she is so kind. If you need haircuts for your kids shes amazing with them. Love this place, thank you Nam for being amazing always!

    I join other clients of Lous Barbers & Hair Salon in offering a five-star review of this outstanding personal grooming service, particularly Ken Hayes, who may be the best barber Ive ever worked with.Having lived in New York, California, Charlotte and many places in between, I know how difficult it is to find a genuinely skilled hair stylist. This is especially true for someone like me, a senior citizen with a need for a personal touch beyond that available in most other establishments, especially chain-store facilities. In my almost two years living on Floridas First Coast, Ken has repeatedly gotten the difficult job done for me, without fail, every time with a smile and encouraging word. Going here is always a great pleasure.I enthusiastically recommend Ken and Lous Barber & Hair Salon to anyone in search of a first-class, highly personalized grooming experience in or around Duval County.

    Ken is a very nice guy and does great work. He has a steady hand and gives honest old school haircuts and beard trims.The shop is tidy and comfortable but the waiting area is simple. At a barber shop 💈 you are going for a reason, not to hang out or have a beer, so that’s totally fine with me.Walk-ins are welcome and that was a big selling point for me as I don’t really plan ahead when it comes to my hair etc. If I go to Walmart and I feel like getting a haircut, I want to be able to do so. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t want to deal with appointments.

    Ken Hayes is phenomenal. Always greets you with a smile and does high quality work. I typically get a fade on the sides with a scissor cut up top and Ken knocks it out of the park. I really enjoy getting my haircut done here and highly recommend Ken for anyone looking for a top notch cut!

    I have been looking for a Barber shop here in Mandarin and happened to come across Lous. I read the reviews and decided to try it out for myself. I had the pleasure of walking in to a clean barber shop and working with Ken. We had a great conversation and he asked details about how I got my haircut. Ken did an amazing job and was also very efficient. I am excited to come back again. By the way, remember to bring cash!

    My son and husband both see Nam for hair cuts. We go every 2 weeks like clockwork and Nam is phenomenal with my little boy who started seeing her around the age of 5. He was petrified of the clippers. She goes so fast and that helps so much for my kid! Efficiency A+ for her!

    Long overdue, but this shop is the real deal!Ive been seeing Ken since I moved here. He moved from his last shop to Lous, and the switch couldnt have been better! Ken seems much happier, and even more thorough than other times. Rather than have the other barbers staring at a TV and not really speaking to you, they were all engaged. I go to a barber shop for a good cut, at a great price, to converse with the other people there, and thats exactly what I got! Highly recommend this place, theyre all great; even though I moved because of Ken, Id trust any of them with my hair, and thats saying a lot!

    I’ve been going to this barbershop for about 2 years now, so I can confidently that I’ve seen both the good and the bad. And listen to me when I say that the only bad experience I’ve ever had is a long waiting time… and thats just because they are so well-liked! I had about 5 people ahead of me also wanting to get a haircut from Ken (my barber) and thats when I knew this would be my barbershop for as long as I am in Jacksonville! Not only does Ken offer great haircuts but he also offers a great experience.10/10 Barbershop, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new place to get your hair done!

    I have been coming to get my haircut here for a couple of months now. Ken is always friendly and gives the best haircuts. The prices are affordable. I make an appointment rather than walk-in. Ken always does a great job.

    I was a walk-in and initially wanted Tessa to cut my hair. She was busy so Ken offered to do it. I gave him a pic of what I wanted and I’m happy to say that Ken did a good job.Update > It’s now been three months since Ken cut my hair. Since Walmart is only a few doors down, I was thinking as I left yesterday that I should step in and tell him how pleased I still am with my cut, but I didn’t. Then as I was leaving Walmart, I saw him outside, so I rolled down my window to tell him. I might add that I’m as picky as can be when it comes to cutting my hair. I hadn’t allowed anyone to cut it in literally years. This is the moral of my story. . . if a ‘barber’ can cut your hair and blend the cut so well that it grows out so beautifully that it looks like you just stepped out of the most expensive salon. . . fear not to let this barber cut your hair.     Ken is usually my preferred but sometimes there’s a wait so Nam has cut my hair twice & both times she’s awesome also especially since today I grew my hair out for 8 months and went to a short fade . Nam todays haircut was awesome thanks 👏

    Found a great barber at Lous, his name is Ken and he has been doing hair for a very long time. I told him what I wanted and it was done. Best haircut I have had in a long time. Glad I found him, he is now my go to guy, and it is a super nice shop!

    All the ladies here are great and Karen La Rosa did an awesome job!!! She took the time to consult with me about the best approach for future results I wanted with my hair, show me pics of what my color would look like and took all necessary measures to prevent any further damage to my already damaged hair.     I started going here when I found out that my favorite barber Ken now works here. I move around a lot and every place I move to, I always make it a point to find a barber who can give me not only the haircut I want, but also the haircut thats best for me when I myself have doubts. Suffice it to say, Im not one to just settle for the closest supercuts.Admittedly, it took me a while to find Ken but it was worth all the mediocre haircuts and barbers I had to endure prior to him. In my opinion, hes the best barber in Jacksonville! If you know Ken, then you know this to be absolutely true. He really listens to you and makes sure that both of you are on the same page before even starting on your hair.Aside from his calm, relaxing demeanor, hes also very light on his hands and gentle with your head. Bonus points as well for being able to talk to you about pretty much anything under the sun (for us its gaming). Ive been having Ken cut my hair for 2 years now and so long as Im in Jacksonville, I trust no one else with my hair but good old #KenTheBarber.The fact that this establishment is both a barbershop AND a salon also means that my wife and I can come in to have our hair done together. Shes been looking for a good hairdresser that wont cost an arm and a leg and it looks like we found our spot. Where else can you turn a haircut into a bonding experience with your spouse? Were doing exactly that on our next visit and I cant wait!Important Note: For now, they only take cash so make sure to bring that paper!

    Very pleasant barber shop, with friendly and professional staff. I was in and out in less then 20 minutes, which is saying a lot considering that you can easily spend 20 minutes just waiting at other barbers. Good price for a good haircut -- I will definitely be returning!

    Just moved into the area and was in the shopping center where this shop is located. Plenty of parking. Its next to a Walmart supermarket. Walked in just after 5 on a weekday. It has maybe 10 chairs and there were two women cutting older gentlemens hair. They greeted me and said I was next. No one else but me there. Had maybe a ten minute wait. The place was nice and clean. The decor may be a little dated, but so am I. Linda cut my hair and did a very nice job and was pretty fast. $14 for the cut. Im happy and will be back

    The place isnt dirty. The staff are always friendly to their customers. That guy must have a grudge against the place. Those ladies work hard for their money, and have lots of regular customers. I go their periodically for a trim and for styling of my hairpieces.
