Angela has been my stylist several years now and I am amazed at her work. I have natural hair and get silk presses monthly now. Each press lasts me until my next visit about 4 weeks. This is my forth time getting japanese hair straightening with angella. Before my hair was very curly with a lot of shrinkage and extremely frizzy. This serve has been heaven sent. my hair is so much easier to manage and is super shiny. plus she is very informative and will give you loads of advice on how to take hair of your hair. the service takes about 3 hours and she is always on time.

Best hairdresser in JAX. Went to multiple salons before this one and my hair continued to break. Ever since I started with Angella at Salon 718 my hair has sprouted. Her silk press game in phenomenal and it lasts until my next 2 week appointment!!!! Baby stay laid!!!!! You want your hair healthy, sprouting, and laid to the Gods see Angella!!

We all hunt for that perfect hair stylist that can deal with all types of textured hair. Angela at Salon Thairapy, has given me the best hair experience ever. I used to relax my curly hair all the time, till one hair stylist chemically burned my scalp. So, I had given up trust in stylist for 3-5 years.Then I did research on Japanese Permanent hair straightening. This raved about making your hair straight and silky. It removes all the frizz and works on all types of textured hair. After looking at all the reviews and YouTube I decided to let Angela do it for me. I am so happy that I did because she knew how to apply this properly and how long to leave it in.Just look at my pictures of before and after. I wish you could feel how soft and strong my hair is. Come try her for anything of her services and I know you will not regret it.

If you are looking for someone to grow your hair to its best condition, come to Angella. She is the best stylist I’ve had in a long time. She prioritizes hair health in here! She does very even application relaxer. In less than a year, my hair has grown more than 4 inches. This is the most hair retention I’ve experienced. I always let her trim my hair when she says it’s time. She wants your hair to GROW, so she only takes off what she needs to. You have to work in tandem with your stylist. If they say you need to get a protein treatment, GET ONE. Need a trim? Get one. If you want to do better care of your hair in between appointments with her, ask her what products she recommends. If she doesn’t think it’s time for color, don’t get one. If you want to see your hair density increase, your length retain….seriously, come see her. She is a trust worthy and awesome beautician.

I have been living in Jacksonville for almost 2 years, trying to find a stylist I can stick with.I have natural hair and get silk press.I like my hair styled with curl so it has body and will drop as days go by.I like my hair being straight like when I had a relaxer.My job consists of lifting boxes so I have to put my hair up.My curls and hair are still straight after work. I’ve been to Angella twice for Japanese hair straightening & both times the results were fantastic. I’ve been having Japanese straightening done for over 20 years & can confidently say Angella knows what she’s doing. The natural texture of my hair is very coarse & kinky This is the only treatment that works on my texture. This is a permanent straightener & requires touch up to the new growth/roots. I’ve learned that it’s important to work with a skilled stylist who knows not only the correct application & techniques but also knows how the client’s hair responds to the processing to avoid any issues. This treatment is far less damaging than other straighteners & doesn’t contain formaldehyde! The results are perfectly straight, soft, smooth, shiny, healthy hair. Not only do I highly recommend Angella, I drive 90 minutes each way to see her twice a year!

I keep forgetting to write a review when I come here but here we go :)I have been coming to Angela since 2020 and have never looked back!! Every time I get her detox/hydrate hair silk pressed by Angela I am always satisfied! She is the most detailed/ fastest I have experienced.I remember getting one on a rainy/humid day and I swear my hair did not even frizz.. it was like magic and then on top it the quality of the silk press lasted me over a week, still flowy, no frizz and hydrated! Also with the hydrate/detox treatment my scalp/hair has never felt so clean and light ever !!I’m telling sometimes I forget to sleep with a head wrap and it still feels great in the morning.I have been to other salons and as soon as I step out of the salon my hair immediately frizzes up and lasts me maybe 2-3 good days and then right back to heavy and weighed down.In addition, the great thing about it is that my natural hair is never damaged when I wash it out, my texture comes right back out as if nothing happened.I have come to Angela for color also and it is perfection, she is a color expert and my highlights blend in seamlessly because she is very meticulous and detailed.Highly recommend! I have been a client with Angella now for about two years. My hair has never been more healthy! My hair is so thick and it is NOWHERE NEAR brittle as it was when I first met her! We agreed to go natural and I love the results. However, my hair would kink up soooo bad as soon as water hit it. Angella recommended getting a texturizer and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh my God.....my hair has been so much more manageable in a natural state!! Literally night and day! Like I can literally COMB IT. I recommend Angella for anyone who is seeking hair care services. Angella is very professional and competent in hair care. Not to mention, the salon has a very peaceful vibe. Moved to Saint Augustine and haven’t been able to find a salon that cares for black hair. This is not only 30 min away from me but my experience here was amazing. I had a color consultation on Saturday and the moisture silk press with single color on Sunday. Angela is very kind and it’s obvious she knows about all hair types, especially natural hair. I finally found my salon!! It truly reminds me of NYC vibe and I love it good music and I always enjoy good conversation with Angella and I love getting my hair shampooed! It took me 7 years but glad to find a hair stylist that respects your time, provides great service in the best benefit for my hair and not her pockets for example I let Angella know that I wanted to add light highlight colors to my hair and her reply was to wait until she gets my ends healthy and then hopefully by December!! I love Angella for this more than she may know because to see that my hair is her priority not booking me for the color knowing my hair isn’t healthy enough but if I had booked anywhere else I don’t think I would have received this level of care and integrity❤️🙏🏾

Life changing. About 5 months ago, Angela blessed me with the Japanese hair straightening treatment and nothing will ever be the same. I have naturally hellish/frizzy/curly hair that has plagued me since birth; but it has finally been tamed. I’ve truly saved HOURS weekly not having to fight with my hair.I waited this long to write this review to see the longevity of the treatment/to see if it eventually damages your hair—it doesn’t.For those wondering about the pricing; before tipping, my total was $800. My only complaint is that it was $200 more than I was originally quoted. Granted, I added a trim ($20 via her online pricing) and shampoo/conditioner. I think $180 for shampoo/conditioner is pretty unreasonable though. But I digress. Angela is a wizard and I highly recommend using her to make your nightmarish hair go away.

I visited this shop for the first time a couple days ago to get a silk press. I have been living in Jax a few years now and have struggled to find anyone that can work with natural hair decently. I have had bad experiences and some just ok experiences. However, after Angela finished with my hair, it was the best I have ever seen it since moving to this city. My wait was not too long and the price was very reasonable. For the first time, I am considering having a professional do my twists/twist outs. This will be the place for it.

Salon was clean and Angela was friendly. I did not like that it took an hour after my appointment to finally get serviced. She let me know immediately she was behind which i appreciated.There was also something unexpected that occurred with the girl before me. I enjoyed the shampoo and the blow out, my hair was so silky. But thanks to FL it only lasted like 2 hours before the back part of my hair poofed some. Idk if there was anything else that she could have done to prevent it. I will go back to her again because I did like my hair when it was pressed.

Angella at Salon Thairapy is the only person I would trust to do Japanese thermal reconditioning (Yuko hair straightening) on my hair. Its taken me years to grow my hair out. I dont want to have to chop it all off because of low quality products or bad stylists.Angella has over a decade of experience doing Yuko, only uses high quality AUTHENTIC Yuko products, is a consummate professional and does not double book appointments during the 3-4 hour Yuko process. Angella is meticulous and careful. She may be slightly more expensive than non-Yuko stylists but she is well worth it if you dont want to gamble with low quality, non Yuko products or unprofessional stylists.Angella at Salon Thairapy has my highest recommendation.

Great salon! I found salon Thairapy on Yelp. I had gone from natural to relaxed hair at another salon(who shall remain nameless) I had asked for that style black women are rocking right now: low all around and full in the top. Thats not what I got. The stylist told me (too late) that my hair texture was courser so it wouldnt lay down with the first virgin relaxer. So my course hair looked like a porcupine in the back. SMH. I was hesitant to go back for a touch up. I decided to try a different salon. I lucked up when I called Angela and asked if she had openings that day. (Yes Im a procrastinator) She said unfortunately she was booked. When she called me back and said she had a cancellation, I ran out the house LOL. I live downtown in the Springfield neighborhood so it took me about 25mins. When I got there she had one person already. Apparently she had issues with her calender and had double booked. I had no problem waiting. After about ten mins she started on me. Angela has a great attitude and is knowledgeable about hair. She is also friendly. We hit it off immediately. Her salon is intimate. There is only room for two stylist in her shop. Its clean and nicely laid out. Soft jazz flowed throughout the space. The other lady in the shop was a nice, older, white lady who joined in the conversation. I liked that. It showed me that Angelas clientele is diverse. She does natural hair too.When I showed Angela the style I had originally tried to getand, she point blank told me my hair wouldnt do that. I wish the first stylist had told me that during my consultation and before cutting it. That to me is the job of a hair professional. Dont tell what you think I want to hear. Give me the truth. No two heads are alike.Angela is also quick and she doesnt talk your ear off. She knows when to give you space to do your things.At any rate. My experience was so wonderful, I booked my next appointment before leaving. I love what she did to my hair. If your hair and spirit need therapy. Look no further then Salon Thiarapy!P.S. color is her specialty and she has a hair steamer!

I absolutely LOVE salon Thairapy Jax. I did the big chop many years ago, going from a relaxer to natural hair, not understanding that natural didnt mean less maintenance. My natural hair was a lot for me to handle.When the cute pixie cut became popular I wanted to see if it could be done on natural, pressed hair. I went to a well known salon in Jax. The stylist assured me I could get it, but obviously underestimated the thickness and coarseness of my hair because the cut was horrible.I looked up salons on StyleSeat and saw some reviews for Angella. I went in and thank goodness she was able to fix the cut. I transitioned over to Stephen who continued to style my hair, giving me the pixie on pressed, natural hair that you see in the pics. The cut really showed off my salt and pepper tresses in the best way.The only problem I had was that I sweat ALOT. My presses would not last. I also wasnt the best at maintaining short hair LOL‍When I decided to let it grow, I stopped going to Salon Thairpy (big mistake!) and wore a weave for a year. My hair grew some, but because I sweat in my head and the tension on my edges from the install, it was not a long term option for me.Covid struck! I decided to ditch the weave. My hair was a total mess.(see pic) I came back to salon Thairpy Jax where my hair had always been lovingly maintained. I was warmly welcomed back. Stephen and I discussed my hair goals.1. straight, relaxed hair which has always held up to my sweating2. color the grays because it was making me look older3. achieve long hair growth similar to the weaveHe put together a plan to systematically give me all of those things, and as you can see, its working. My hair is healthy and past my shoulders!I love this salon and Stephen is the absolute best. They give it to you straight too. If you want something they know will not work with your hair type, pattern or color, they will let you know. They are constantly taking classes to learn new hair styling techniques and offer a variety of styling methods for all types of hair.I highly recommend them. If youre looking for a salon that does all types of hair and offers all variety of techniques RUN dont walk to Salon Thairapy Jax where they cultivate and grow strong, healthy hair.Oh and did I mention they are open on SUNDAY!!
