Absolutely amazing! After just flying in from a long week in Jamaica my daughter needed her hair done asap but our normal shop is closed on Sunday. So I started to google different places and found Motherland hair braiding of lakeland and she was kind enough to squeeze us in on a Sunday. Let me tell you my daughter hair is slaying! She did such an amazing job we really hit the jackpot finding this place wow!

Mame came highly recommended from my coworker! She was so patient with my daughter in getting the precise style that she wanted, medium full box braids. Pricing is reasonable and she is so quick and efficient, we were out of there in no time. I live in Tampa, but will take the 45 minute drive to Lakeland despite all the other shops around. Definitely will be back and recommend others 😁

Awesome hair braiding shop in lakeland. Im new to the area and found Motherland on Google. The reviews were great and so I booked and was not disappointed. As long as Im in the area this will be my shop for anything with braids. The stylist is very professional and prices are great! Ill be back in about 2mths😊

Came in and the place is very clean and organized. She does a great job braiding and accommodating wirywhst you want and what is best for you. I am definitely coming back to get more braids done.

If you want a pleasant and professional experience, you NEED to book with Mame (“mah-MAY”) at Motherland Braiding of Lakeland.From the moment I contacted her, Mame was kind and professional. I have had terrible experiences in the past that left me with an aching head and back, and head tenderness that never went away. I had a LOT of questions because I am very picky and had a specific look that I wanted, and she was so patient with me and answered every single one of my questions.When I got there, Mame was ready for my visit and had already prepared the hair and products and everything, which I was extremely pleased to see. I do NOT like to wait for my appointment to begin, it’s inconsiderate and unprofessional. I try to be on time and do my part as a client by going with clean, stretched hair so that the stylist can start right away, and that’s exactly what happened.From the moment she began, Mame made me comfortable. Every step of the way, she made sure that I was alright with what she was doing, which made me know that I was in good hands. Her studio and products were clean, it had plenty of cool air, and the shop was quiet. I wanted a very specific style of braids that were light and didn’t weigh my head down. Mame gave me EXACTLY what I wanted; I couldn’t believe it! I left the shop with ZERO head tenderness- I even fell asleep more than once because of how gentle she was! I got a steam treatment at the end (it felt wonderful!), and I was even offered a sandwich (I can’t say that you will be too, so don’t bet on that haha. I just thought that was very sweet).Mame’s gentleness, attention to detail, and speed shows that she is a master braider. I have every intention on being a client for as long as she is in Lakeland. I’m telling you now, GO SEE MAME AT MOTHERLAND BRAIDING! If she meets MY expectations, I can guarantee that you will love her!

I love this lady I normally drive all the way to Tampa just to get my hair braided and I was so thankful to be able to find her she is closer very professional fast and does top notch quality work I would recommend her to anyone my fiance even goes there to get his hair retwisted I wish I can give you more than 5 stars but I cant but you know the love appreciate you!!!
