My 3-yr-old granddaughter got her hair cut today at Sharkeys. It was awesome! The stylist was so good and very patient with her. She braided my granddaughters hair and put colored clips in it and then glitter! Then she got to pick out a ring and got her nails done (blue polish, of course). Sharkeys is so good that my daughter who lives about 45 minutes from here, drives all the way down here just to get my little sweeties hair cut. Kudos to Sharkeys! Yall are special.

This is absolutely the best place for a childs haircut! This was my child first hair cut and they did absolutely amazing. They made her very comfortable and relaxed for the cut as her hair was down to her butt and she got it cut to her shoulders. They also do glitter, butterfly clips, and nail polish. We will definitely continue to come here!

After having a not so great experience the first time (with a stylist who is no longer there) the manager reached out to me, and they definitely redeemed themselves the second time. Sheena was AMAZING, and knew exactly what we were wanting. She was so patient and friendly. Would 100% recommend and come back again! Ask for Sheena you will not be disappointed!

THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE TO GO! 😍 We had a wonderful time! This was my daughters 1st salon experience. Shes 6 years old. Suzanne made her feel very comfortable and welcomed and did a fantastic job on her wash,tinsel braid and nails while Cypress did phenomenalon her haircut. She got a wash,cut,blow dry and style. Tinsel and nails and a stuffy and all very affordable! They even gave her a free ice cream because it was her birthday. Look no further. This place has got it going on and we will be back!

My mil took my son to get a haircut. He had fun, but my only concern is the sides of his head are definitely uneven. Unfortunately, he wont let me cut his hair due to sensory issues so now it has to be left like that until it grows out.Update: The owner contacted me and I was able to bring my son back in for them to fix his hair. Cassandra did a beautiful job on his hair and even helped him with his sensory issues, with describing what each cutting device felt like before she cut his hair. Thank you so much! We love love love this place! Brought my 3 year old boy/girl twins for a haircut and we came out feeling magical. My daughter felt like a queen! This was her very first haircut and she did not want to leave. My autistic son was not having it at first but with their calm demeanor, allowing breaks, and constant positivity, he finally allowed his hair to be cut which is a miracle as its always been a struggle. I highly recommend this place to everyone! We will definitely be back.

This place is amazing for children. I took my 3 year old son to get a much needed cut and it came out great. Hes autistic and quite the mover but he absolutely loved the car chair and sat so well. My daughter thought she was royalty getting her hair and nails done. I definitely recommend visiting them if your baby needs anything hair related. They even do ear piercings, both ears at the same time to minimize pain. Well be taking her to get hers done soon. 💜

My two daughters got their haircut here today and it was such a great experience!! The staff was friendly and experienced; the place was clean and perfectly decorated for kids. Arrived as a walk in appointment on a Thursday afternoon. They got me in at a decent time for me to go to lunch quickly and then return. My sons stylist was MJ & she was amazing. We had a bad first experience at a different company/salon for kids; but our first-time experience here was great! She was very patient and knew what she was doing. My sons hair was blended well and he loved it too. I cant get over how great she did with my sons hair! Placing a before and after photo :)

I am so amazed by this place. Our daughter has ADHD and is on the spectrum. This was her first time in a salon. She doesnt like her hair touched because of sensory issues. Mrs. Jackie was like a miracle worker with her hair. She was so patient brushing the knots out, giving us ideas on products and brushes, praising our daughter and waiting until she was ready to keep going. It was incredible and everything you get with the purchase of a haircut is wonderful for the value. Our daughter said her hair felt better and she loved picking out the clips. I will definitely be back. 100% recommend to any parent. Thank you Sharkeys for making her feel like a princess.

This past visit my oldest really enjoyed the patience that Mrs.Susie had with him even taking time to show him the the buzzer wouldnt hurt him and explaining what she was doing before she did it.

We have been looking for someone to give our son whom is on the spectrum and has ADD a haircut. I called all faith brothers barber and he told me he cant cut my sons hair if he doesnt stay still or pay attention since I disclosed his ADD. My wife told me about Sharkeys. Hailey was beyond amazing. Very caring, very calming while cutting my sons hair. She was very patient. Im so glad we chose here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I am incredibly grateful for the amazing angels of hairstylists/women who work here.I brought my son here awhile back and they do so good with him we have been coming here consistently, we have never had a bad experience at the Lakeland location. We have seen Whitney and Sheena recently when we come and they are both amazing.My autistic son had his first haircut in the kids’ chair today as he has grown out of the car chairs. I was nervous about this because we tried this at the South Tampa location and my kid basically ran out the building to get away from the stylist, but I digress.Sheena was incredibly patient. It brought tears to my eyes as a special needs parent, not many people have the patience, so you just really cherish the people who take the time.Whitney has also been consistently kind during our visits with her. Thank you both so much for accommodating his needs to clean him up. 💈💇‍♂️

Was there for a 9am apt.one if you have children with autism this is the place to go.we called set an apt.Let them know my son had sensory issues with a hair on the face b loud sounds freak him out and c that hownstly alot of people he would have a complete meltdown.in letting them know this ahead of time they recommended a morning apt as well as extended apt from 20 to 30 incase of breaks or cool down assistance needed.Casandra was his stylist and honestly despite being a little unappy about a haircut b some still little bits of sensory exposure he did really better then expected!!! 10/10 recommend

This was a wonderful experience. We went at the end of the day and it was slower. My son was able to chose the car he wanted and they allowed my younger daughter to sit in one during my sons cut. They put on TV for him of his choice. Allison cut his hair and she was wonderful. Patient kind and so great with kids. I really appreciated that she asked before putting in a colored hair wax. I didn’t mind at all but it was kind and respectful. They gave both kids a balloon and lollipop. For the experience it was well worth it and the cut was great!! The salon was clean, inviting and colorful. Absolutely will return.

My nephews daughters love visiting and having their little mini spa for just them. They love the one on one attention and the stylist makes the kids feel so daggone special. As I watched a few different boys and girls visiting while waiting, all the children knew they would each get their share of free goodies (stickers, balloons & lollipop). It may seem a little pricey for a few, but know that your money is well spent by this very talented patient staff, even if your child hates getting their hair cut!

Smooth, positive experience! My son was very hesitant to go for a haircut— he has sensory issues and usually prefers I shave his head at home. But, I was wanting to keep it longer this time. We went on a school holiday so did have to wait a little bit after our scheduled appointment time, but overall they got us in fairly quickly and the cut was done even quicker. He loved the different seat options and chose to sit in the airplane. All of the staff was very warm and friendly and we will definitely be back! So happy to have a location in Lakeland now!

A great place for kids haircuts. The staff are fantastic. They have an environment suited for kids. Smaller kids can sit in driving seats and older kids can play video games while they get their cut. They did a great job with my sensitive and wiggly 3 year old.

Great experience for my son, who has only let me cut his hair until now. He said hw cant wait to go back!Each of the salon chairs are different 12volt battery kids cars. They have tvs with Netflix at each of the chairs to keep the kids looking ahead. A costume rack if the child wishes to dress up . And theres chalk paint on the bathroom walls with a full bucket of chalk to keeps the little ones entertained if you go with them .

The staff welcomed us into the shop and were very friendly.Huge shout out to Sheena, she cut my sons hair and was very patient with all of his head movements. Everyone was so so sweet! We did the My First Haircut package and it was 10/10 worth the drive and price especially since they also painted my daughters nails and we got a certificate with before and after pictures along with some of her hair. When my daughter dropped her certificate on the walk from the shop to the car we went in to see if anyone had turned it in and they kindly gave us a new certificate with pictures. Will definitely be going back!

We made an appointment at 3:40 today. We arrived on time for the appointment. We waited 55 minutes before we decided to get up and leave. The hairstylists would attend other kids that would walk in meanwhile we’ve been waiting since 3:40. It was wrong that we waited so long and probably would have kept waiting if we wouldn’t have left because there were no stylist available. They close at 5 it’s like they were trying to keep us for last. It’s unfortunate because my kid really enjoys his haircuts there. If you go to this to location be prepared for long wait times.UPDATE:We received a call from the manager on Sunday. They addressed our concerns and apologized for the delay in service. I am happy with the responsiveness of the management at this location. We will give this location another shot because they have excellent customer service.

Had an 11:40 appointment, checked in at 11:35 and it’s 12:15 and finally got called back. Watched multiple other kids (boys and girls) come and go in the time we waited. Inquired about wait was told it would just a few more minutes, stylists said she’d “be right with” us 20 minutes ago. I understand people run behind. I also understand there were other stylist who could have taken us or at least started the appointment by going ahead and washing my daughter’s hair. Pretty disappointed with service leading up to hair cut. Hopefully actually hair cut will go better. More to come… we left after bangs were trimmed.1 month later - we came back for full haircut and was a totally different experience. And they had made note we had trouble last time and gave us a discount on this service. We’ll definitely be back. The stylists are all so patient with the kiddos.

Had a great experience at Sharkey’s! They booked me for a last minute appt for my two daughters, and both of them loved their experience. My youngest took scissors to her hair and had some crazy bangs, and Whitney was able to turn her masterpiece into a very cute haircut she has received many compliments on. My oldest played Roblox and a health trim, both haircuts took less than half an hour along with nail painting and a style to their hair. Sweet folks here that are quick and precise in an environment that is fun and totally kid-centric.

Sharkeys was an awesome place. My child was nervous at first but as they washed her hair and chatted with her, she talked easily. They asked my opinion on how much hair to cut off and it was perfect. Ive been taking my son here for the last 4 years and its the ONLY place he likes. Hes big on loud noises and not using the buzzers and they actually take it into consideration unlike most places!! I highly recommend to anyone debating to just go right on ahead and do it

I had fairy hair done by one of the assistants but it did not stay. I went in the following day, and Sheena redid all of it and it was amazing. She was so professional and apologetic. I will definitely be back to have sheena do more fairy hair on me and recommend my friends to her as well!! When you have an outstanding employee like Sheena, she definitely needs to be recognized. Thank you for making my hair so sparkly!!

So a little while ago I wrote a review on this place saying how I had always been satisfied with my sons haircut until the last , where there was an certain employee that felt like she didnt want to be there... since then, the manager contacted me and had me cone back in free of charge to right the wrong haircut my son received! I will continue to bring my son for cuts here! I was so taken back by their effort to make things right! I never expected a call more or less a free fix! This place rocks!

Updated Review: The store manager called me after leaving my first review in April 2024. She was very apologetic about the service we received with MJ. I appreciate the customer service received from her. Many places don’t care how their clients are treated.Went back today 8/16/24 and Susie cut both my grandsons hair. So happy with her service and how their hair came out. I would recommend Susie or Whitney for services at this location. Very happy with the outcome and will be happy to take them there again.______________________________________________Had 2 appointments at 10:40 am. Whitney was prompt. Waited for MJ till 11:25 to begin.Whitney cut my grandsons 1st haircut. She has patient and listened to what was asked for the style. I am happy with the results.MJ was the stylist for my 2 yr old grandson. He didn’t like the vibration of the clippers and she used scissors. His hair came out horrible, didn’t style after asking. She doesn’t have any patience for kids and expected him to sit still 🙄. What 2 yr old is going to sit still.Even though the experience with Whitney was positive we will not be going back.Do not recommend.

This is the BEST place for kids haircuts. They have cars and a plane for your child to sit in and toys to hold while they get their hair cut. The stylist is so patient as well. I ❤️ this place!

Took my two boys in here for the first time today! My oldest has autism and adhd and my youngest has sensory issues. The car chairs were a hit with my almost 4 yr old. And my oldest loved being able to play the Xbox to distract him from his haircut. They both had a great time and love their haircuts. Great experience for them both.Sheena and Whitney were awesome!

About 2 weeks ago, we made an appt for my 7 year-old son & went in without any preconceived expectations*, just pictures on a phone of the style he was hoping for.* Sharkys was suggested by my sister-in-law, following a google search of kid-friendly barbers in Lakeland that left her feeling pretty confident shed found a gem, & we were sold.I was NERVOUS driving there, as my sons surferdude blonde hair had grown out to the point it was sitting about 8 inches PAST his shoulders, so in order to achieve the haircut in the pictures we brought, this was going to be a BIG change I was unable to visualize ahead of time.So needless to say, momma was STRESSING.OUT.......that is, until we got there...Just pulling into the parking lot you cant help but feel a wave of excitement! Balloons in the window, bright neon walls in different colors, iminating a party vibe thru the front windows, and a life-sized shark out front patiently waiting to give high 5s! I was sold on 1st looks alone, but then we went in...Like an arcade they had tiny prizes and shark tattoos for the kids. On the left were car/plane seats for smaller kids, and on the right they had your normal salon chairs, and in front of each?>> TV screens, each one hooked up to its own game system. Thats all my son needed to forget every stranger danger lesson hes ever had, finding his way into a chair to get started, like all the reservations and hesitations he had on the ride over never existed..The stylist was ready for us the second we got there, talked with us about the pics and hairstyle, reassuring us it was a good pick for him and explaining in detail HOW she would do the cut, which guards she would use and made note of it all to store in our file, should we want the same on our next visit!!!The entire style and cut she had done in less than 15 minutes! And thats with saving a lock of hair for us from the top and bottom so we could save as a keepsake. And once done, she directed my son to pock a balloon, a tattoo and a lollipop as part of the service, which was such a pleasant surprise and you could tell between the drastic haircut and the goodies, my son was LITERALLY DANCING AROUND WITH HAPPINESS. TNot to mention, his haircut came out PERFECTTTT...needless to say happy tears before I could make it out of Sharkys and we will without a frigging doubt be going back!!!*before and after pics for attn

Everyone in this place was amazing to my girl. She has sensory issues and that includes with her hair. It was a little difficult to get through the cut but they offered her anything to make her comfortable. By the end, she was no longer upset and excited about being in there. I plan to bring her more regularly to make her comfortable with getting her hair cut. The patience and kindness from Jackie and the rest of the women in there is what will keep me coming back.

I love Sharkey’s all the stylists are very knowledgeable about all hair types. They take the time with the kids. Kids with attention disorders, anxiety or autism they make feel comfortable. The tvs and power wheels cars they sit in take there kind off the hair cut. The Xbox seats are grate for the older kids

This is our second attempt at getting my sons hair cut here. First time we walked in and were told they had no availability. Okay, no big deal. I scheduled an appt for a week later. He was so excited! I got a call on the morning of out appt saying that a stylist called in sick and they had to cancel his appt. I understand life happens, but a business like this should be prepared for these type of situations. They did offer to reschedule, but it was on a different day during school hours. We arent missing school for a haircut. So back to the app I go to hopefully get an appt set up and actually get to try this place out. Ill update my review if/when we ever get to be seen.Update: Once we were able to have our appointment they did a fantastic job and our son loved it. I updated the review from 1 to 4 stars because they really do need to figure out contingency plans for things that life throws at you like a sick employee. Otherwise the actual experience once we were there was great.
