As a father, I had always been accustomed to simple hair care routines, but my daughters curly hair was uncharted territory. This was our first visit to Curl Sanctuary as we moved to the area just a few months ago. Joelis did a phenomenal job with my teenage daughters hair. She educated my daughter on how to care for her hair and what products to use. My daughters haircut was fantastic. It looked so much bouncier and she said it felt lighter in comparison to before. First time at Curl & Ivy in Rockledge with Alexandra and it was amazing. I can’t express my gratitude enough for her thoroughness and knowledge. She took the time to learn more about me and my current curl routine. She not only brought my curls back to life, she also gave me the knowledge and tools necessary to keep my curls looking amazing. The whole experience was top notch and nothing like I’ve had before. If you have curly hair and you want to bring them back to life don’t hesitate to book an appointment. Stylists who know their business and cut both my Wife and our Daughters hair in 3 hours.I cannot recommend Alex enough. Shes the best and can do any hair of any kind, and always delivers a superior experience.

Today was my first appointment with the curl sanctuary and I was hoping when I went in that I would be able to walk out with a style that helped my hairs shape and volume, as well as hopefully being a bit easier for me to deal with. What I was not expecting was that I would receive education that I wish my younger self would have had access to. My hair has been a constant struggle for me ever since I was a little girl. I never knew how to handle it and neither did my parents, and so most of my life has been spent damaging my hair with straightening irons and wishing that there was a better way. Britney at the curl sanctuary gave me information that I have never heard before about how to correctly care for and style my individual and unique kind of hair. I not only felt beautiful when I walked out of the door, I also felt empowered. This is truly women helping women.

Im a senior in high school and I have been struggling with my hair for about a year due to a haircut done by a hairstylist that didn’t have the proper knowledge on how to cut curly hair. I have been to embarrassed of my hair to go to school because of how horribly my hair was cut and was at risk of not graduating. After trying numerous stylist in the past year and still not loving my hair, I decided to research curly hair salons. I had never heard of a curly hair salon so I didn’t have much hope in finding one. That’s when I came across The Curl Sanctuary. With having hair cut trauma I just wanted to walk in and talk to someone to see what they could do to help. I was very anxious but instantly felt relaxed when I walked in. I was instantly met with the most beautiful collection of plants that really made the atmosphere not only welcoming but also whimsical. i talked to a very sweet stylist (Kathiuska) that knew exactly what i wanted with my hair. I never felt so assured that someone knew how to cut my hair so I booked an appointment with her, and it was the best decision I have ever made. She first started with a dry cut to accentuate each and every individual curl. After my dry cut, I was taken to the wash bowl, where I got a detox shampoo, deep conditioning hair mask, and a relaxing scalp steam, that smelled of lavender. While my hair was wet, she did some extra pieces that were missed in the dry cut to really make sure I was happy with my hair. After she began the styling process and taught me every step of the way of what she was doing. I was also informed on proper hair products for my specific curl type because the ones I were using were to heavy for my hair. Kathiuska didn’t let me see my hair till she was finished, to be surprised of course, and let me tell you I was shocked. When I saw myself in the mirror, I had to fight back tears because I never had a haircut that I have actually loved. If you have curly hair and have been looking for a place to get a proper hair cut and knowledge on how to care and style your curls, i highly recommend booking an appointment.

Oh my goodness! If you have curly hair, you MUST go The Curl Sanctuary! I had Ricci fix a mess of my hair that someone else did a week ago! He is amazing! Everyone there was turning out lovely curls so I think they’re all wonderful. I cannot recommend this salon enough. On top of producing great hair, it’s a positive, warm, inviting, kind atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

This was my first visit with Ricci. I have been educating myself and have experimented with the right products, but the lack of practical knowledge and techniques never gave me the best hair results. I came in with a lot of questions but unsure how to ask. Ricci made me very comfortable with initial interactions and I was able to ask him some very basic hair care questions and he provided me with easy to understand and follow on my own guidelines for everything involving my overall hair care and styling. Lisa has been my girl for 2 years but it feels like forever! She has worked with me and helped me to regain curls my younger self has only dreamed to see, she gives amazing education and advice for how to take care of your hair and maintain it! Curly hair is hard work and needs lots of love and she’s shown me how to do that as well as helping me with any hair color I’ve asked for! And not hurt my curls. We had an amazing experience with Joelis at The Curl Sanctuary! She did my three year old daughter’s hair and was so amazing keeping my daughter calm. Towards the end, my daughter started getting fussy and Joelis redirected her beautifully so we were able to avoid any tears. Joelis explained and demonstrated everything so well. My daughter’s hair turn out wonderful! The salon was also beautiful, airy and such a calm space. They even accommodated my mother attending the appointment with us. Overall we loved our experience!

I just moved to the area from out of state and was desperate to find a hair stylist who knows curls! I found The Curl Sanctuary and Joelis’ work stood out to me. I can honestly say it was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon! I’m literally writing this in my car at the salon’s parking lot, I couldn’t wait to tell how AMAZING my experience was! Devon performed an extremely beautiful haircut, I’m so glad I listened to her suggestions. After the hair treatments and styling my hair felt more alive than it had been in years! My curls are clamped the way I’ve been trying to for months! The tips she gave me I’m going to take to heart! I wish I knew about this place before moving 🥲 It’s also the first time I go to a hair salon that is gratuity free which took me by surprise and that they also take “education,” as their instagram bio says, pretty seriously, I know a lot more about my hair now! Overall, if I could give more stars I would!

Great atmosphere, Great service, and an incredible overall experience. Its been years since getting my haircut and I had no clue what I wanted. My stylist Devon helped walk me through the styling process, and I ended up with exactly the kind of hair I had pictured in my head. The products left my hair feeling soft and looking shiny, truly everything about here was amazing! If you are looking for a new stylists, this is the place to book. Devon was an incredible stylist who helped bring my curls back from the dead, and she helped me understand how she did it throughout the process.

I had a dry cut with Marlon today, and I am wondering why I haven’t done this sooner! Ok I know why, because it’s pricey, and times have been tough! I decided to splurge on myself and let me tell you it’s 100% worth it. If you struggle with your curls definitely do the curly experience and let them school you on products and technique, it is very much worth it! I had the experience with Ricci and it changed my ways for the better. Also, keep in mind the tip is included in the price, so the pricing is out the door and their skills are well worth the $$$ I can’t say enough good things about these guys, just do yourself the favor and treat yourself!

I feel so lucky Ive found Joelis. I walked in needing a refresh but not knowing exactly what I wanted. I gave her some very rough direction and she delivered clear, confident vision that was completely in line with exactly what I wanted but didnt know how to explain. Her confidence buoyed me to try a pretty dramatic style (plus curly bangs!!) and its the best haircut Ive ever had. Im from San Francisco and have done many devacuts in the past. She gave me really easy instructions and didnt push product. But most of all, shes so lovely to spend time with. Shes got a beautiful, easy, light spirit and left me feeling really good about myself. Ill be back to visit her, even if it means a cross country ticket. ❤️

My experience at Curl Sanctuary was wonderful. Joelis really talked with me at the initial consultation. She wanted to understand my day to day and my aspirations for my hair. She listened to the challenges I’ve had with my curly hair which is three types of curl in one. On the day of my appointment she was ready with photos to concretely discuss choices and a plan for conditioning and styling. It was clear that she really thought about my hair in between the consultation and the appointment. Her easy manner, thoughtful approach, and her expertise all made me feel confident in her hands. She showed me how to maintain it, and I walked out feeling light and beautiful with the softest, bounciest curls. Absolutely in love with my haircut and style by Joelis! All my friends and family are still raving about it. I always have an amazing time at The Curl Sanctuary and I always feel heard and completely understood with my curls in all the ways. Joelis knew exactly the look I was going for and slayed my hair. I love my bangs! And I once again have juicy well defined curls. I decided to dive right in and I love the style and length of my hair. It frames my face so well. Joelis completed my experience with a run through on how to replicate the look at home and general maintenance. Loved loved loved my haircut. Joelis truly knows curly hair. I only trust her with my daughters and my hair. She is so knowledgeable, patient and friendly. We both went in with dry, brittle, lack luster hair and came out with the most defined, bouncy and light curls we could have asked for. She listened to every concern we had. Joelis took her time teaching my daughter how to hydrate her hair after detoxing and applying a deep hydration treatment. Recommended the right tools and products for each of our types of curls and how to use them. Highly recommend Joelis and The Curl Sanctuary.

I had my hair cut and styled by Joelis and I must say she gave me the best experience I have ever had at any salon. I had my consultation and first appointment with her after having my hair cut terribly by a different salon. She made sure she addressed all the concerns I had, wanted to know my day to day routine, and my end goal for my hair. At the appointment, I showed her photos of what I desired for my hair and she did better than I could have ever imagined. I have never been more comfortable and confident in a stylist! She is very easy to talk to, listens intently, and tells you exactly how she is going to obtain what you want. I have never seen my hair look better than it did after my appointment with Joelis. I will definitely be coming back to get my hair done with Joelis. I cannot recommend her and Curl Sanctuary enough!

This review is based on my very first experience at The Curl Sanctuary...I am in love! It is so rare to find a place where you feel comfortable enough to let your “curl” guard down and allow someone to cut your hair. Well, not only does that place exist- but it is specifically for curly headed folk! A dry cut is life changing! I submitted my information to be a hair model and was excited to be chosen. On a rainy Saturday morning, I was greeted with a friendly (masked) face and a sweet curly pup. The COVID friendly check in process was quick and painless. The Curl Sanctuary is drenched in natural light, which is noticeable as soon as you enter. Nicole was my curl master! Super friendly and knowledgeable about all things curls. She talked me through the whole process and consulted with me on my goal for this haircut. I felt like she really heard my concerns and the end result is reflective of that! I LOVE my hair. It’s so light and fresh. The layers created that volume I craved! I was even sold on the hair product line they use. My hair has never felt or looked better!

I had one of the best hair appointments ever with Ricci, a true artist with a servant heart! Never in my life did I know I had the potential to have curly hair! Even though my appointment was for color, extensions, and a haircut, where he went above and beyond all expectations to give me all the details I asked for, he then patiently showed me every step to add one more styling idea-how to encourage my new mane into curly voluminous healthy hair! If you’re looking for better locks yourself, I recommend Ricci and The Curl Sanctuary!

Holy Curls! The Curl Sanctuary lives up to its name. Richard has magic hands and so much knowledge to provide. He literally cuts each curl individually. He nourished and restored the beauty of my curls. Highly recommend!!!Dont expect an appointment right away however, he is worth the wait. Everyone was very nice and pleasant and it is a beautiful building as well in Melbourne.

Went as a first-timer after accepting I have curly hair after all. Richard was my stylist this time and he was so great. Very educational and he and Nicole, another stylist, helped me understand how to take care of my hair and even explained what they were doing (and why!) as he was cutting my hair. I felt very in-the-process, rather than an observer.Im also a high-anxiety person and this is the first time I didnt feel pressured to talk about myself to a stranger. I was free to talk (or not) at my own pace while they worked. Loved my experience here! Will be back again and tell other curlies about Curl Sanctuary.

Being a 59 year old black woman who, had lived in a northern state and has worn her hair relaxed, colored and flat ironed for the last 57 years, moving to sunny Florida did nothing good for my hair. My hair was so damaged from the chemicals and heat that I have been using for the past 12 years. After seeing my sisters transformation coming here I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. I was tired of going to different salons and them screwing up my hair, so I was very nervous coming to the curl sanctuary. When arriving I was greeted by my hair stylist Ricci and welcomed into a clean and friendly environment. All stylist were very knowledgeable and didn’t judge me for the lack of knowledge I had. After my session I looked into the mirror and started tearing up! I have not seen my hair look this good since I was 10, this is the best place I have EVER gone for my hair and even though it’s a 2 hr drive for me it’s worth every gas mileage!

My daughter came in with badly damaged hair from attempting to flat iron her hair. She was devastated and was about to shave her head . Thankfully she found this place online and I agreed to take her. What an amazing experience. I highly recommend The Curl Sanctuary! I went there for the first time yesterday. They are so knowledge. Marlon & Richard spent time explaining ingredients in products & dos & don’ts for my curls. Marlon told me that if I had any questions or needed help with styling to text or call him & he would be happy to help!! They made me feel so great & I left there with a big smile!! I got the curly cut & will be going back next week for Pintura highlights. I can’t wait!! I live an hour & 20 minutes away, but have no problem driving there because they are wonderful!

Had to write a Google review for my natural hair sisters in the area looking for a natural hair/curly hair salon. As someone with type 4 hair, this place is an absolute sanctuary (even the interior design is like being sanctuary) . Marlon (my stylist) and co owner Riccio are fluent and knowledgeable in type 4 hair and super talented in anything hair. Period. They both shared best practices for hair (and I think the fact that I got advice from both speaks to how warm and friendly the staff and environment is to everyone in the salon) . I’m looking forward to how much more my hair will thrive now that I have found Marlon and the Curl Sanctuary Team.I wholeheartedly recommend this salon, and am happy to have found my official salon.

Today I got a Rezo cut with Ricci! This was the most unique and informative hair cut I’ve ever had! My hair is soft ringlets all over my head. Can I give this place a 10/5 stars?The atmosphere was light and airy...zen.My stylist (Marlon) was very knowledgeable about curls/waves/combo hair and is a level 2 Devacut stylist (which means he knows what he is doing).I loved the organic innersense line and essential oils the curl sanctuary carries.Please note I just moved to the area and it is nerve racking finding new professionals for everything.My appointment was was easy to schedule online. So I have been on my curl journey for two years now. When I first started I did research but it was the basics. Started off with Devacuts every 6 months but never fully committed to the full chop. I noticed my hair never looked the way I wanted it was just good to get me by. Well Covid hit and I couldnt get my haircut. I went to visit family in Melbourne for the new year and I decided to look into a place that could help my curls. Did my research and found The Curl Sanctuary. I was nervous since it was my first time with a different person. I walked in and I automatically loved the vibes of the place and of the two gentlemen there. I was attended by Richard. He literally went through the ENTIRE process of cutting my hair and taught me what I was doing so wrong for two straight years. Due to short time I did not get it styled but he made sure to let me know the correct way and form for me to begin. Let me tell you my curls have NEVERRRRRR looked this good. Im still working on the moisture/frizz situation but I have actual RINGLETS. The shape and length is perfect. I never thought short hair would look good I just figured I needed to start over, but OMG i cant stop admiring the magic Richard did on my hair for me to get this outcome. Going to post a before (Halloween 2020, sorry dont take many pictures of myself) and after. If you are looking for a place that is going to revive your curls and give them the awesomeness you have looked for and tried to achieve this is the place to go!!!
