Debbie is your GIRL for curly hair cuts.As someone who has had naturally curly, frizzy hair my entire life and spent most of my adult life trying to tame it, I finally decided to try to work with my natural curl pattern and I explained that to Debbie - who also has fabulous curly hair!Let me tell you - I thought I had “irish” curls. (You know, curly on the bottom and kind of wavy/frizzy on top)Turns out my hair was just cut wrong. She’s friendly, fun, chatty, and really wants to make sure she’s done a great job. I went to her when my regular stylist was out of town and Debbie came highly recommended by a family friend. They are located upstairs in a plaza so don’t feel lost - just head up the stairs or on the elevator to the second floor and they are in the back right corner. Be forewarned - she is lovely but she’s not great with technology, self admitted, so you’ll have to bring cash or a check. If you are an animal person, the owner brings his lovely dog, Charlie, to work with him every day. I have two dogs and she could clearly smell my weakness. The salon did not smell like dog or anything like that, but Charlie was absolutely thrilled to cuddle up in my lap during the haircut.. where she remained, like an absolute Angel, perfectly still and content, almost the entire process.Let me tell you - a haircut with Debbie, a total stranger, felt like coffee with my best friend. She is fabulous and I drove 40 minutes to go see her one way, which I was not thrilled about, AND IT WAS WORTH IT. I probably would have gone twice as far if I had known this was the result. You DO have to pay for parking, which isn’t ideal, of course, but the cocoplum garage is right next door - and I did think the haircut price was a little steep (80$) compared to what I’m used to paying (40-60$). (I have been to more expensive salons with more amenities….but nobody did the job this well.) But clearly there’s a reason for the cost. Debbie isn’t a big fan of diffusers because she doesn’t want to damage the hair and she air dries hers - that’s okay. Trust the process. If diffusing works for you, just diffuse it when you get home. DO NOT JUDGE your cut until you style it yourself. I promise, it will be the best curly hair cut of your life.Look at those perfect curls. That’s with some drugstore curl cream and a diffuser. I didn’t do ANYTHING ELSE.Debbie is the curly girl goddess and those of us with textured, curly, frizzy hair should really, really try having your hair cut by a curly hair specialist because WOW. My hair has never looked this good without an hour plus of styling. Seriously, if your hair is frizzy, not curling well, fuzzy - consider that maybe it’s not the product you use. Maybe It’s the cut. She’s worth it. I don’t care how long you have been with your stylist. Let them style your hair. Or something. But let Debbie cut it. 10/10. -

Called for a last minute cut and style on a Sunday and they worked us in. Then they worked us in for another guest that was with us. Now thats great customer service. The location also had great customer parking which is a real plus in Miami. If you need a cut or style on the weekend I recommend this location. -
