I had an excellent experience with Janet. I’m a nuerospicy adult and can be very particular but I felt safe, heard, and left with what I’d asked for. I can’t tell you how infrequently I get that.I have very fine, thinning hair that is super straight. Which looks like it would be easy. It’s actually tricky and sneaky.Do go to the hair cuttery and ask for Janet! You won’t be disappointed.

Kaidian and Kisha!Yesterday after a long long wait I decided to make an appointment to get a hair cut.Fyi long post.I wanted to get right in, so I called and they had an immediate openingMy first idea was that my boyfriend needed a cut, after a long ongoing recovery from an accident. He felt so amazingly better after his hair cut with Kainian, she was so nice and heard him and made it a pleasant experience! My hair needed a cut but around 2 years ago, my best friend committed suicide. She had worked at a haircuttery in a couple different Hair Cuttery locations over the years but, no matter what she did my hair for the past 16 years. I hadnt gotten my hair done since she died, it was just a heavy situation for me to even think about. Since my boyfriend needed one I just held my breath and jumped in too. I wasnt even sure if I was going to do it, it just happened. And all of the sudden I was letting Kisha cut my hair. It wasnt hard for me to open up to her about my feelings about the situation. She basically could relate to my story and we shared some stories of grief. She didnt know me and she didnt HAVE to talk to me like that, in depth. But God saw fit to put me in her chair. I liked the cut I trusted her to cut inches off and she gave me alot of info about my hair type. She suggested good productės for my hair type, did not push me get it since I didnt have money for it.They both deserve a huge Thank you and I sincerely suggest everyone and anyone that wants a great experience from the experts go to Kisha or Kaidian!!! Thank you both!

I was looking for a place to get my hair cut. I took a chance and walked into The Hair Cuttery. I met Keisha at the front desk, she was friendly and had a big smile. I was a little nervous, but she immediately put me at ease. I told her I hadn’t had my haircut professionally in two years. She ask me to come back and discussed what style I was looking for, she gave me suggestions as well. She cut my hair and when she finished I was so excited. It was exactly what I asked for. It was an honor and privilege to of had these services from Jessica, because the process was lengthy but she made it feel smooth and fun. Weeks before, she overheard a conversation with my original hairdresser who wasnt familiar with the keratin treatment and jumped right in to advise me of the process. The day of, I arrived early. Jessica informed me every step of the way, offered excellent conversation, offered to help me with getting lunch and gave me the best advice as to how to take care of my hair. Jessica was lovely and never hinted or complained of this all day process. It honestly didnt feel like an arduous situation and I felt appreciated and cared for. I really like my other Cosmetologist, Stephanie at the Edgewater office, and the way she dyes my hair, but that salon doesnt have anyone who know how to apply keratin. Therefore, I am so happy that I have Jessica to go to in the New Smyrna salon. There is signage on their salon about enjoying your time there and it is so true! Thank you very much.

Back in December I had moved here after a major life changing event. I wasnt feeling well, Ive lost a lot of weight and I hadnt had my hair cut in over a year. Laurie Lynn took the time to listen to me and do exactly what I asked, mind you neither one of us appeared to being morning people, but we pulled it off. I am a young 56 years lady with natural silver gray hair. I shave the left side of my head, Ive been doing my hair like this for years but after letting it grow out for over a year, it was hard to see that cut. Anyway she did so good that I went back today. We did a little tweaking and now its perfect. Ill be going to Laurie Lynn forever. Even one of her coworkers complemented me on the cut but it was Laurie that had to do the work. I love this location! Been to plenty of hair cuttery locations over the past 10 years in various cities/states and this might be my favorite. All the girls that work here always have great attitudes and are patient with their work. Jolene is my go to girl, but Ive gotten a cut from many of them in the past and have never had a bad experience (And Im usually a picky guy!) Victoria also does a great job. I definitely recommend this spot!--Dan

Staff is very friendly, and I was greeted promptly. Have had haircuts from both Jolene and Kit, and found them to be very professional stylists. They were attentive to my inputs, which is kind of important, because I have quite the cowlick going on towards the front left. Inexperience will surface quickly, I have seen it unfold....unfortunately. Not the case here, these individuals were confident and knew what they were doing. Well done and thank you.

Got a permanent & cut while in NSB this past winter. When I returned to MN just a few weeks later the perm seemed to have disappeared. However, the weather was cold here & wearing headbands & caps simply flattened my hair. With the return of good weather & the lack of need to wear head gear my perm was evident & healthy. Now 2 months later it’s still very nice & love the cut. Thanks Cuttery.

Speaking as a guy, this is a good place to get your hair cut. Its where I always go since I moved to the area and tried a few other places. I rated it 5 for me but in reality it might be around a 4 for those with high standards because its not like a super fancy top tier salon or anything, which is what Im assuming some might expect from a five star rating. I always ask for Jolene to cut my hair: she does a great job despite my hair having a cowlick that causes most people to mess up when they cut it. Plus I enjoy the the occasional discussions with her where we nerd out on Star Wars lol. Anyway great local place.

I just want to say that I was wowed by Jolene! My hair was a bland and faded red. I wanted to go back blonde and do some balayage in my hair. Jolene was able to complete the look in one appointment! My hair didnt feel dead or like straw afterwards! I am so in love with my hair! Jolene was very informative, kind, and professional during my entire visit and I dont think I will ever allow any other person to touch my hair after this visit! Wedding Nightmare turned into a DreamAfter a horrific experience earlier that morning at another salon, I was left in a panic . It was the day of my sons wedding without someone to help me with my hair. We called around New Smyrna to find someone who could not only fit me in ( on a Saturday ) but also give me the updo I was looking for. Thank God for Kit and the staff here. Not only were they all reassuring but professional and the results were AMAZING!!!!! I cant say Thank you enough for the beautiful job and literally saving the day....
