    Made an appointment with Kylie and was so pleased with the cut and service . She was a very sweet and kind person and her work was amazing. She did my highlights and cut in record time , price can’t be beat and I really enjoyed my experience . Highly recommend .

    Making Waves for the win! I had a wild hair up my… well you know what to get my LONG hair chopped. I called at 9am and was in Kylie’s chair by 2pm. I showed her an inspo pic and off she went. She gave me a beautiful hair cut. I am very happy with this salon and will be returning for upkeep and some kind of fall color soon. Thanks Kylie! The receptionist was a very sweet and attentive lady as well. Shop was clean. No long wait. Great pricing! Can’t say enough good things. Leaving a before picture and an after so you can understand what a beautiful cut she gave me.

    I love my friendly neighborhood salon! I needed a last-minute cut and they got me in that same day. My stylist, Debbie, took the time to listen to my needs and gave me exactly the cut and style I wanted! She was like an artist, attending to every detail, sculpting the feminine, sassy pixie cut I adore! Its easy to tell when someone loves what they do, and you know youre in good hands with them. I highly recommend Making Waves Salon, and Debbie!!

    I’m hesitant to try new places because I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with hairstylists not cutting my curly hair correctly, or not listening to what I ask for. I went out on a limb to try this salon because of the value and it is wonderful! Lindsay did a wonderful job with my hair! She was friendly and listened to what I wanted, being careful to make sure I liked the cut as we went along. It was a great value (hard to find with curly hair) and great quality. I will definitely be back!Edit: have gone nowhere but here for the past two years. Lindsay is my trusted stylist, and I wait to get my hair cut by her even though I’m not local anymore. This salon is full of friendly and kind people who desire to serve clients well, dedicated to executing your exact vision at reasonable rates.

    I love this salon. Lindsey is excellent and my hair is beautiful because of her. She and Kathy make the salon friendly and inviting. They give fabulous color , cuts and styling. I have been going here for 2 years. I used to go to other places in Venice which are pretty good, but I didnt get the results I was hoping for. And I wasnt treated personally. Here I know Lindsey and Kathy know my name. I recommend this salon to everyone I know.

    Best salon. Kathy has been cutting my hair since I moved here in 2010. She listens and just knows how to cut my wavy thick hair and get my favorite shade of blonde when I color.She NEVER reprimands me when I home color either. Always ready with helpful hints!💚

    The service is great! Lindsay does my hair and she is amazing! Its hard finding a hair dresser that you can trust, but here you can. They also have this steamer instead of a dryer/heater for hair color and it is so nice. I would definitely recommend this salon!

    I’ve been to so many salons in the area and have had some bad experiences. Never really connecting with or finding my forever Salon..Not anymore! Lindsay was AWESOME and one of the best stylists I have ever had! She listened, made suggestions that were perfect and left me feeling brand new! I highly recommend this Hair Salon. The owners are so inviting, and kind that I felt comfortable and at home from the moment I walked in the door!     Kathy has been my Florida hairdresser for over 3 years. I was so pleased for her and Kim when they opened their new shop, Making Waves. Kathy, Kim and Lindsey are all awesome. It is a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Kathy does a great job on my hair as well as my husbands.

    Kathy is amazing and the entire staff are so sweet and ready to help ! My son is 2 years old and we went here for his 1st cut Lori had a opening last minute. She was very gentle and even suggested he sit on my lap to make him more comfortable. Kim was so sweet to play pee a boo and share his snack with him . We couldn’t have had a better experience! We we definitely be back !

    I hadn’t had my haircut in many years. There was a ton of breakage in the back, it was uneven and lacked volume. I read the reviews and nervously gave Making Waves a call. The woman I spoke with asked me about my hair and assured me that Debbie Leigh would work with me and give me a good solution. They got me in the next day. I arrived the next morning to this lovely little salon. There was no attitude just a great welcoming experience. Debbie consulted with me and listened intently to my needs. Having long hair with great layers, tons of volume, that looked put together- with the shape of my hair, I knew that was a dream list- I did not expect her to be a miracle worker. In the past I’d always gone to top stylists at Aveda. They never valued my input the way Debbie did. She also was not rude about my at home dye. She instructed me how to take better care of my hair all while not upselling me on any products. She proceeded to give me the best haircut of my life. My hair somehow magically appears longer. The layers are perfection. The back of my hair finally doesn’t embarrass me. I went to pay and the price was fantastic. I can’t say enough good about this salon and Debbie. I’ve already referred three others.

    From a chance meeting on Nokomis Beach to the best haircut Ive had in Florida since moving here in 2012. Lucky for me I met Kim on the beach and went to have a cut on Thursday afternoon. She did the most amazing style on me and I LOVE IT. Shes the best.

    Ok, so I’m picky! When my friend recommended Kathy I was a bit hesitant to try someone new! Kathy worked with me patiently and listened to me!!Best cut I’ve ever gotten… truly. I love it!! I guess I’ll have to travel down to Florida for my cut from now on☺️ GREAT price too!

    I got my hair trimmed and highlighted by Debbie ! She is great ! My first stylist in Florida! I am really picky about my hair and went to the same person since 1997. I have tried other Venice places but I gave up ! Then I read reviews about this shop and called for an appointment. I explained my preferences and she recommended Debbie! I was pleasantly surprised! Debbie has the expertise and manner I was looking for andis very accomplished with color ! Have had lots of compliments on her work ! I highly recommend Debbie and will continue to have her take care of my hair ! Great personality and awesome customer service ! Salon is spotless and I am extremely happy!
