    Aminata did such a wonderful job on my daughter Sophia’s braids. They look amazing and she was super friendly and professional. My daughter couldn’t be happier… she gave her exactly what she asked for and it looks even better than she imagined! We will definitely be back!

    This hair stylist was amazing. She works fast and with passion. She’s comforting as well for those who are insecure about their hair. I went in thinking nothing can be done with my hair and left with a head of beautiful braids in time for Christmas. Very grateful to her, Will be back soon.

    This is by far the best place in St. Petersburg to get quality work done on your hair. Aminata is the best hair Braider in St. Pete. I get the same hairstyle done every 2 weeks and after numerous attempts with other salons and having horrible experiences (she literally had to fix my braids after another salon did a horrible job) I will never go anywhere but Aminatas West African Hair Salon! She is the best bar none it is not even close!! Everything from a simple 2 cornrow design to more difficult hairstyles she does with ease and at an amazing price! Dont waste your time with other Hair-braiders, Aminata is top tier and undoubtedly the best! 5 Stars I wish I could put 6!

    I managed to get my long blonde waist length hair severely matted yesterday, upon shampooing, first time ever. Anyway, I freaked out & managed to get the left side out myself, which took me many hours, using conditioners & olive oil. As for the right side I spent the whole entire day trying, with no luck. I went to ask my hairdresser to see if she could help, & she said she could cut part way up the matt, so I could salvage some hair, I didn’t want her to do that. So, I got even more frustrated trying again & again, & I almost cut it myself, & thought there’s gotta be a better way. So, I went to bed, to try to put myself out of my misery, & thought...dreadlocks are matted, & if they put them in, they can take them out! So, I googled: Dreadlock hair salons, & found & called Aminata, she was very sweet & told me to come in, thank god, because nobody else was open on Sunday. Her 17 yr old daughter, Katie worked on my hair & she got the matt out 100%! I was so happy, I was in tears! Also, she was very reasonable & she was a very sweet, kind, & awesome young lady! Katie not only got me back my long hair, but she also got me back my smile! I highly recommended this beauty salon & I was entertained by her adorable little niece! Thank you, Katie! 😁

    Amimata did a good job with my hair. I am very tender scalped and it was very painful but I had worse. I loved my braids and the prices were reasonable. There is another shop about a block away called A braiding it is a little confusing.
