    Ive gotten my hair done twice and had great experiences both time. Mariam and her daughter worked together to finish my hair and I really appreciated the speed and professionalism. The braids were perfect, tight enough to be secure but NOT tight enough to hurt or cause irritation.My braids have lasted about 45-60 days (depending on my upkeep). Ill definitely be going back.

    AMAZING! Not only is Mariam fast and meticulous, but she is such a genuine, kind lady! I’ve been getting boxbraids for years and she is probably the best I’ve ever had. The braids are gorgeous and she really listened to what I wanted. Her salon-mannar is so calm and soothing and she was flawless at anticipating my needs (snacks, comfort, and TV). You can’t pretend to be that wonderful for 10 hours. She’s the real deal. I highly recommend her to EVERYONE but also, for non-ethnic folks who may be nervous about braids—she will pamper you no matter who you are.

    HAIRDRESSER SEAL OF APPROVALMy new go to salon!I am a hairdresser myself and recently moved to FL. I was anxious on finding a new braider in the area after having seen the same person in TX for years. I was seen by Doris, she is warm and passionate in her work. I was scheduled for a take down of small micro braids waist length, wash and reinstall. I am pretty picky on my hair being a hairdresser and was pleasantly surprised to have come across this salon.This was perhaps the best wash I have ever received! Good scrubbing and felt amazing. The take down was done gently with attention to my natural hair! I brought my own hair and they were fine with this. Miriam offered to take a look at the hair before the day of appointment to be sure it was able to be used. I showed Dorris where I part my hair and she paid attention to that and braided it with the part in the place I wanted. The braids were done consistent in length and thickness. She curled the ends after the braids and I must say this is also the best curl pattern I have had on the ends. They were actually curly . My head did not feel tight at night and I was able to lay down on my side of head without pain. She let me hold the root of the braids on the edges while she braided the length so it did not pull on my edges. All of the stray hairs were trimmed off after the braiding was finished and the braids were polished. No detail went unnoticed! I posted a picture with my hair in a messy bun that I did myself however you can see the neat sectioning that was done in the braids and the consistent thickness in the braids.I accidentally spilled my coffee all over the floor and Dorris was patient and kind in cleaning up my coffee and making sure I had space for all my things.Getting your hair done is always a long process and I can say I enjoyed myself the entire time I was in the chair. WHY? Because these people are genuine and fun to be around. It was run by a family mother and daughters. They all enjoy what they do and are lively and happy people that joke and entertain everyone they are around, This reminded my of being around family and made the visit go very quickly. I can tell that Miriam truly cares of her business as she kindly asked me what my experience was lime at the end of my visit with Doris. It is hard to find people that have passion in their work these days and I believe this place is a gem in the making! Do not go anywhere else go see Miriam and I will assure you that you will not be disappointed!Thank you to everyone at the salon for an enjoyable hair day and I wish the salon much prosperity in the future.

    I just got my box braids done at Mariam’s by Doris. They look fabulous, and I am very happy with the outcome! Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and homey. Doris patiently mixed in two hair colors for me so that the braids would look more blended, and she also made sure that she did everything with extreme care. She also was very attentive to every detail I wanted for the outcome and frequently checked in with me to make sure i was happy with her progress! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend again! Thank you so much everyone I met at Mariam’s salon, and thank you so much Doris for a beautiful hair styling!

    Did an amazing job on my hair. Got four Dutch braids for an event and she did an excellent job. Braids were super tight but not to the point that it hurt. Very clean work and super professional. I’ve received so many compliments. Thank you again!

    I had crochet done, and look amazing. Everywhere I go people are staring and saying you look gorgeous. Also, my daughter had long knotless braids done here, they were neat and well braided. They do a marvelous job, I have been going to this hair salon since it was opened. I have never been disappointed. Always doing a GREAT job!

    Mariam’s was such a great braiding salon. I have never had my hair braided before, and they made me feel so comfortable. Doris did such a phenomenal job on my hair! I got thicker braids with hair added in. I would definitely do this again, but I will always come here!

    I love my braids. Mariam and Doris are professional, polite and proficient in their business. They worked with me to get me in on my day off. Ive been trying to get my hair braided for about a month without success until I called Mariam African hair braiding.From my initial phone call to the end of the process, Mariam African hair braiding made this process stress-free.     First time customer but I will definitely go back there again. I was so happy to get an hair appointment in a very short notice, and the owner was very gracious when I had to cancel and reschedule in a short notice time. I live in Fort Lauderdale and I will definitely go to her whenever I am in the area. Now my braids, they are AMAZING! I am getting so many compliments for them. Mariam’s work is beautiful and neat and she work fast. Already looking forward for the next time that I am in town to get my hair braided by her again.

    I have been getting my hair braided at Mariams faithfully for almost a year. The difference at Mariams is in the detail and quality of work. Customer service is on point, so youre finished in a reasonable amount of time. The prices are fair for a mens style compared to a womens style. I wouldnt go anywhere else to get my hair braided.

    I love my braids when I walked out of Miriams. It was my first time and Doris took great care of me even though it was a sunday and I did not have an appointment scheduled. Doris was very friendly but the other two workers could do with a little more customer service tips. They did not make me feel comfortable at all but Doris did. I love my braids.

    I highly recommend this salon!! Came in ready for my appointment however I had brought the wrong hair, but they were super patient with me and were willing to teach me what hair was appropriate and what hair was not. they definitely took the time to figure out what hair was best for the style that I wanted. They even allowed me to go to the store nearby and come back to continue with my appointment. Mistakes do happen and they are definitely understanding 😁😁I will definitely be back. They just got themselves a regular customer 😄😄😄

    Ive never been a braids person, but I started letting my relaxer grow out and wanted a break from the flatiron. I cannot tell you how much I loved my Ghana braids! Mariam did an amazing job!     I called this morning and received an appointment this afternoon. Doris was so sweet and fast. She nailed the picture I showed her. I received crochet braids and left out the door two hours later. Clean place. I felt safe and fine. I will return again for crochet braids again. Everyone said my hair was cute and neat.     Omg I love my braids!!! Thank you Rohey:-) from the time I called to book my appointment she was polite professional. I told Rohey what I wanted and she did an amazing job. I got the knotless braids in small, they are so neat and pretty💗 what I love about coming here is that my braids feel good I can move them around the same day with out any soreness. Best braiding salon in the area. Also her salon is extremely clean & good customer service.

    Best West African hair braiders in St. Petersburg! Once again, Doris delivered a stylish, edgy hairdo for me that is getting rave reviews. My hair grew in during lockdown so I wanted a new look.     I went to a hair salon in Jacksonville Saturday through a friends request. I decided to make a weekend out of it cause I couldnt see going that far to just get my hair done. They didnt do anything I asked them to do. I wanted Bohemian Braid Crotchet with curly hair. They crotcheted my hair but combed and pulled out the curls. It looked like a giant afro when they were finished. I was extremely upset that Id traveled 4 hours to Jacksonville to receive a afro. Anyway, when I returned to St. Pete I googled hair places and located Mariams. I spoke with Doris Sunday evening and had an appointment Monday morning. Doris redid my hair perfectly! She did everything I asked and I was grateful to have found her. I will definitely be back!
