3/20/2025 Update: I came back in and for Kyra to do my hair and makeup for my beach wedding. I am thrilled with how everything turned out and felt absolutely glorious. The staff here works so well with all of the students, and I really appreciated everyone’s kindness making me feel special on a truly special day for me. It makes me smile to see how everyone in there seemed to be having fun with each other.I would also love to see a more accessible way for the students to be able to display their cash app/venmo/zelle info on their workstations so that I don’t have to ask for it in order to leave them gratuity. I imagine some customers feel awkward asking for that info or just don’t know that they should, and I think it is also important for students in that learning environment to know their worth and be rewarded for proving truly excellent customer service. Maybe there could at least be an option to leave gratuity during the check-out process when paying for services, without the paying customer having to ask.3/14/2025: Kyra did a great job on my hair color! I got low lights done to fix some old highlights that had grown out really badly. So happy with how this turned out. Kyra did a great job consulting with me, I always have a hard time deciding what I want, and I needed a skilled eye to give me opinions on what looks good with my skin tone. I am getting married next week and so proud that this is the hair color that I’ll have in my wedding photos.

I am a very happy customer once again! Jahniah has done an amazing job on me. This time its my hair. She did a wash and style and a deep conditioning treatment. I am so incredibly grateful for the service I received today. Kyra greeted me with the utmost of professionalism and took the time to ask me about the concerns I have with my hair and offered very manageable suggestions and let me know about the different products she would be using on my hair. I am very pleased with my blowout. It looks absolutely amazing. After 25-years on the East Coast performing for televised and live stage shows, I have had countless stylists and I felt my experience today was on par with the services and styles I have received in the past.I have had to hire stylist for myself for personal events including weddings and high profile galas and Kyra has the talent and professionalism that I would always look for when hiring. I look forward to seeing where Kyra‘s career takes her. She has an incredible gift and being so young it is going to be absolutely fascinating to see where her natural talent takes her.I also wanted to add that Ms. T was very welcoming and I can tell what a wonderful rapport she and Kyra have. It’s so wonderful to see such a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Women supporting and lifting up other women and teaching the younger generation through encouragement and kindness.I look forward to my next time I’m in Tampa or wherever Kyra’s career will taker her next.**My only suggestion would be that the technicians have a sign on their mirror with a way to pay them a tip. It would’ve been great if there could’ve been a Venmo or some other payment app sign that I could’ve easily tipped her without needing to ask her.

My first visit at Empire Beauty Academy in Brandon was a wonderful, relaxing experience. Cosmetologist student Alexandria was fantastic. My service was a shampoo wash/deep conditioning with cornrows. Alex after conditioning my hair gave me a scalp massage almost had me sleep in the chair, extremely relaxing…loved it! She braided my hair exactly how I requested and it look fantastic. I will definitely be returning for more services. The service was quick, students are trained very well, school is very clean well organized, teachers are helpful and kind, and I loved my experience. I am very satisfied with the services of your students and staff. I will come again next time I visit Tampa.

Nicole Vega was my stylist today and she was the next best thing to my last stylist (Melina who just graduated), she did a stellar job, using high quality products to preserve my color and was very attentive to all of my needs as a client, all the other stylists were equally friendly and had a lovely rapport, not to mention how clean the school is, all of the students deserve a raise. Its a shame they dont have a mystery style option because I told my stylist to do what she thought was best and she had lovely intuition. If you want something fun or spunky, I recommend Nicole.

My stylist was Queen! She was very nice and knowledgeable about what products to use for my hair. Ill try to book her again before she graduates :)I scheduled a same-day appointment with Janiya. She introduced herself and was very welcoming! She confirmed the services I desired which were a wash, deep condition, and flat iron (silk press). She recommended a scalp treatment for my dermatitis; the treatment and peppermint shampoo made my scalp feel amazing and clean! She explained what she was doing every step of the way. She was gentle with my hair which I appreciated. I had a great experience! Janiya had a bubbly spirit, a great personality, and was fun to talk to. I already scheduled a spa mani/pedi appointment with her for my daughter for next week and looking forward to her service. She graduates in 9 days, so book with her ASAP. As well as my nails. I recently started visiting Empire beauty school the 3 months now because my hair is a handful for me to manage it. I usually schedule for the evenings but had free time on my hand today so I called last minute to see if I could schedule a washy and blow dry. They called me back within a few hours and scheduled for me to come in around noon. (Yah)! Once I arrived the wait was maybe around 10-15 minutes as it was lunch time. I was booked with Taneisha, this was my first time but I had no concerns, she was polite. Ms. Good hands is what I’ll call her because she massaged my scalp well and obviously wasnt afraid to use her hands. she did a really good job on a basic service and I am very appreciative of my service today.

Today was my first day coming to the Empire Beauty school and boy was I amazed. They have a well oiled facility here! Very professional, and everyone was so incredibly nice & Patient my stylist (Ahjere) was awesome. She taught me about my hair the products I should use and she was justall-around gentle. I cannot wait for my next appointment with her. (Ahjere) I shall be back as long as she’s here at the school. I will be coming back. What a great experience.

For this to be recognized in its fullest, most subjectively truest form, one must tell the tale in utmost detail, from start to finish, microanalyzing with care the moments that slowly and surely, in the most deterministic sense imaginable, led up to this very day. So come with me on my anecdotal adventure from beyond and witness the woes entailed by the zeitgeist of our times, the encapsulation of our friendship on a macrocosmic scale, and the machinations engendered by the enigma that is our colliding human minds.I was nothing but a wee one when I first met Melina DiGiorgio. I liked Midwest emo, she liked pop-punk, what more can I say? After years of going through whimsical escapades such as trying the mysterious beverage that is herbal tea, watching 9 out of 75 movies together, and contemplating the meaning of life. After everything, all of this finally culminated towards today; the thing that might in fact be the final step in our quest of life before we eventually depart in a manner similar to-(insert generic reference to either The Graduate or Stand By Me.)Its safe to say I went into todays endeavor not quite knowing what sort of expectations I should garner. Fortunately for her, but rather unfortunately for me, Melina DiGiorgio just so happens to be too good of a salesperson, for it appeared that she signed me up for many salon treatments against my will and without my permission. It was my fault however, as I was the one who allowed her to do this as I gave my consent to allow Melina DiGiorgio full creative freedom over my body and being; mixing and mashing me around like the Mr. Potato Head I am. Its okay though, I accept my fate and the intrigue that I have allowed her to cultivate for me and my love for surprises.For my service today, I went through an amalgamation of treatments. Starting from a manicure, and ending up with me somehow having an emo eyebrow slit. This experience gave me a new and thorough perspective on many things, some regarding the state of the universe itself as a whole, and others regarding personhood itself and what it means to be human. I quite enjoyed my services, and I will enjoy them further when I have to explain to my family my new eyebrow look.Overall, Ive decided to rate my experience with Melina in many seperate categories.Manicure: 10/10. I quite enjoyed the weird new experience of having my hands be put through multiple experiences.Nail art: 10/10. The silly faces that now exist on my fingers are eccentric and whimsical.Eyebrow slit: 100/10. This was something I very much needed in order to accend into my final form as an authentic Midwest emo.Overall, my time with Melina has been a joyous, joyous occasion; a philosophical adventure from beyond. Granted, I would appreciate it if she accepted post-rock into her life, but alas, we all have our faults. Would highly recommend the experience again.

I hade a great experience my stylist was Tanisha, I definitely gave her a work out I had just took my hair out of braids and they had been in for about 3 months. She did great at combing my hair out before my wash and after, she made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I definitely recommend coming here they’re very clean and professional.
