The people are always super sweet there ^^ I think this is my fourth time? coming to Paul Mitchell’s and they never disappoint. I came in for a cut n color during the night school, so I just got the color but I’m more than happy with the outcome. I had a teacher tell me that my hair looked like a cozy sweater lol. And the girl that did my hair was so sweet!

Interesting first experience for my elderly mom. We did not know what to expect. Our suggestion, be prepared to hang with it. If you get a more experienced stylist, great, if you get a newer stylist still good. The instructor will facilitate the process and the stylist will only get better with time. My mom recognized the value in being an older client with unique needs and how that presented a learning opportunity for her stylist. Her hair looks nice and she looks forward to her next cut.

Completely satisfied with the whole experience. All the staff was courteous, professional and displaying the best skills they had. The place was neat, very clean and organized. The supervisor was right there at hand to assist the students.I was lucky I had Bryce who did a great job. My wife also had a great work done on her hair. There is no doubt we are , now, sold on the place. Extraordinary service for the price. Great job!!

Happened to be in Citrus Park Mall, Been thinking about getting a haircut for weeks saw this Paul Mitchell Salon, Walked in and asked for an appointment….I was told that this is a school a student will be cutting your hair…. is that OK? I said sure, the student instructor again explained the rules. They explained what was going on and all I’ll say I received a great haircut by Sonny.And of course, I tipped the student barber. And paid the front desk. A win win situation you get a nice haircut, they get to practice, the student gets to hone their craft and make a little extra money. Well deserved.Great Haircut!

My hair dresser was Maya #4238. I told her I wanted my hair dyed a light brown with golden highlights and a haircut with many layers. She checked to see what would be a good color to use and she found a beautiful color that I really really love. Maya cut my hair exactly as I wanted it cut. I am very pleased with the way things turned out. I would recommend Maya to anyone.

I had a wonderful service of hair-coloring and cut. The hair stylist student was very friendly and I could see that she will be very good in her career after she graduates. I wish her all the very best. The teacher was also very nice. Soooooo!! I went in for tape in hair extensions and while I was feeling a tiny bit apprehensive about it I am soooo happy I took a risk and tried them out. Everyone from front desk to the instructors and students were suuuuuper friendly. Jess was my stylist and to say she was AMAZING is an understatement. She was awesome in every way, she listened to my needs and concerns and worked pretty quickly on my install but at the same time she MADE SURE that she was doing it RIGHT. Ive been getting extensions for as long as I can remember and even my husband stated that this was my best install. Ill definitely be going back and seeing Jess soon!!

I will give Jasmine Boyer, (Rose) a 5 star review. God bless her through the class she’s in that she may not listen to either of the condescending, disrespectful, and completely clueless women posing to be teachers for the evening shift of students. Because if she continues to listen to them, not only will she piss off every client, but she’s undoubtedly going to lose her license. When a customer says they want something done to their hair, and in a certain way as to prevent their hair from breaking off or being incredibly damaged, then it’s best to listen to the customer. I certainly hope that Kristie and Julie enroll in the very next class for customer service and hair care. They are severely lacking to say it as nice as I possibly can. My prayers are with the entire class.

My only bad experience is whoever I spoke to on the phone to make the reservation was very misinformed and told me the wrong information and could’ve told me to park in the back, but the service and friendly environment made up for that so I’m giving 5 stars still.

This is my second time going to Paul Mitchell: The School in Citrus Park Mall. The staff and students here are nothing short of amazing! My hairdresser, Sarai (forgive me if I misspelled your name) was a joy to work with, as well as her teacher, Chris! I’ve been to countless salons in the past but they’ve all fallen flat on providing me what I ask, but Paul Mitchell knocked it out of the park again. Everyone is so friendly and eager to learn, and I’m more than happy to provide my hair as a canvas for these aspiring students to learn on. Excellent place, I will definitely be back, and have already recommended to several people!

Sarai (4202) was fantastic, not only did she make me feel welcome and important, she actually listened to what I wanted done and did just what I wanted. She even gave me a suggestion on my bangs and I ended up liking them the way she suggested. To top it all off, when I got home my husband said it looked the same just a little shorter which of course is should be. So that means he couldnt tell the difference between the hairdresser I was going to and the cut Sarai gave me. I will definitely be making my future appointments with Sarai and try to get my husband to go to the Barber School there as well. Thank you Sarai for a wonderful experience.

Update: Another appointment, they really outdid themselves. Theres a color I found and fell in love with. They tried last time, but this time they spent an hour trying to recreate it. So I officially have a dusty rose and no one else in the world has it. How cool is that? Gabby, you and your instructors rocked it out!A lot of firsts. I use PM for my haircuts, they always do a great job, from a trim to a double undercut.I got brave, the May Mom Special was too good to pass up. I found a beautiful dusty pink! They said they could come close to a match, but had to bleach it to achieve the color I wanted. My hair sucked up the bleach almost instantly. Strange to see hair so blonde that the sides were white. We made a mess getting the bleach out. A wet back was worth it. Still amazed she dried my hair before putting the toner on. I guess that makes a difference? Another wash, much less messy and the towel wrap. I waited for (I believe her name is Kylie, cant find the card.)Anyhow, she did the unveiling. I wont lie, its not the color I was going for, but its a beautiful soft pinkish gold. Looks great on my freckled skin.Love it! So my first bleach and toner were a glowing success.Thanks Paul Mitchell & the Mom teacher that kept it all on track.KB May 2024

Jessica #4102 was my stylist. She was very friendly. We started with a scalp treatment, which felt wonderful. She then washed and conditioned my hair. She trimmed the ends of my hair (probably the best trim ever). She cut in layers and into a V (I have long straight hair). Then blow dry. My hair feels so soft and thick now. I definitely do recommend her! I know Ill be returning. Thanks Jessica!

5 stars for the 3 ladies that took care of my daughter! Nessa was amazing, she made my daughter smile from start to finish! The color and cut are exactly what she wanted. We can not say the same for all that we encountered during our visit. And we think that Rules should be applied to all customers not just those you see fit. After my Karen moment at the salon the 3.5 hours went well. Yes we will go back there the stylists and barbers love what they are learning and it shows in the work they put. This was our second visit and we plan to make plenty more. Thank you Nessa and the other 2 ( I wasn’t told their names) for taking my shy anxious daughter and making her the happiest girl ever!

I had a perm today at the Citrus Park school by Eric. He was fantastic. The perm came out better than I hoped. The instructor that assisted was Marlena and she too was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and professional. Please do not ever think that because it is a school that you wont get an incredible look. They are more meticulous and caring then some of the so called best salons. I love how getting a service done there helps them exit the program. I walked in hoping to get my hair done. I was told no that there was absolutely NO available people. So I walked out sad with a rats nest on my head. And out came after me, a knight with shinning clippers. Jermaine. He walked me back in reassuring me he had time to do my hair. And this man delivered!!!! He made me look amazing while keeping the vibes light and fun! He gave me the exact hair cut I wanted. I highly recommend going to him for all your barbering needs.

This was my first time getting my hair color done at any salon, and I’m pleased to say that my first time was a success. The staff was very welcoming but who takes the cake is the hairstylist I had, Nina. I definitely recommend getting your hair done here and especially requesting for Nina, she was very sweet and patient as well as took everything I wanted done into consideration. I asked for an ombré and she made sure I was happy with my hair and that I was vocal about what I wanted. Easy to have conversations with and even shared knowledge about hair to me so I was more aware of how to take care of it, techniques used, etc. Her blending was amazing and I’m in love with the end result. She did everything in her power to make sure the color was something I’d like, showing me swatches letting me do test strands, showing me EVERY possible color to do to because I had used box dye on my hair so it hadn’t lifted that much, only to about an 8. The color I ended up getting was beautiful and complimented my complexion amazingly. The salons environment is also amazing and their wash room is very relaxing, it’s like a separate room isolated from the salon with relaxing music and dimmed lights. Gives a very luxurious feel. Ive only been to Paul Mitchell three times and so far I love it. I started going there shortly after they relocated to Citrus Park because I worked in the mall so it was very convenient. Im not sure what made people so unhappy at the previous location but theyre WONDERFUL now. I like that before they start working on my hair I get to talk to the leader first about my hair and she will suggest some options for me to choose from. They dont just throw the students out there to sink or swim either. I constantly saw leaders checking on the students and even intervening from time to time to help out. It made me feel so much better about getting my hair done because Im extremely picky about who I go to and the thought of students doing my hair concerned me a little. And the students do a FABULOUS job!! The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is because it does take a long time. The first time I got my hair done I had to come back another day to finish because my highlights took so long.

I had an amazing experience here! I went in to get my deep brunette hair transformed into a metallic lavender, throughout the whole process they kept it realistic but promised to do their best to give me my desired color, and they delivered! My stylist was Nour (3522) and she was the best I could have asked for! I’m only giving 3 stars because I was hoping to have a great time while getting my hair done but some people just need to work a bit on their customer service skills and better hygiene (especially when you are the educator who is supposed to lead by example). One bad apple can ruin a bunch! These people are learning and are stressed out already. An educator is supposed to be a mentor who teaches the ropes of the trade but also can help you get exited for your future career or they can make it seem yuck. I’d be mad if I was paying 20k to learn and my educator was treating my customers like that or if I owned the school and staff was too being top notch. This is prestigious Paul Mitchell school after-all and not some basement class…Kristin at the front desk was super sweet and welcoming. Stylist in training Anna was great during the consultation and did a a pretty good job with my hair too. I rebooked and will be coming back to her but not on the day when that particular educator works. Yikes! She did become a bit nicer when I asked for everyone’s names before leaving but the whole experience was ruined already. Maybe she was having a bad day… Who knows! I wouldn’t want this attitude at my school for sure!

I had been coming here since the end of May because I wanted to go from red to platinum/silver. I was blessed with Mary (who has graduated now) and Melissa (my favorite instructor) who completely transformed my hair without damaging it (it went through A LOT of bleaching). I am forever grateful to them for making my hair dreams come true and every time I come back I want to make sure Melissa is there to help whoever touches up my hair because she knows how I like it.

I highly recommend Paul Mitchell the School Tampa! I was greeted with a smiling face by the front desk as soon as I entered. You can really tell that everyone here really has a passion for what they are doing because everyone had a cheerful attitude and seemed like they genuinely enjoyed making the clients inspiration a reality while working together as a team to achieve the desired outcome. I came in for a cut and dimensional color. Nickcola and Syndey took amazing care of me and took the time to listen to my desires and concerns and helped steer me in the right direction to develop the perfect look for me. Both of them went above and beyond to make sure that my color and cut was not only beautiful but practical for my lifestyle. At other salons in the past, I have felt like just a number there. That was not the case with Sydney and Nickcola. They made sure that I was comfortable and happy with their services the entire time! They truly made me feel special! I can honestly say that Ive never had a stylist as attentive as these two beautiful souls were. Both of these women were so sweet, cheered each other on, and made the entire process fun with their upbeat attitudes. They are both extremely knowledgeable and professional stylists. I had complete confidence in them the whole time. As if I didnt feel pampered enough by these two, a third stylist named Hollie came to help them curl my hair. She was just as sweet and knowledgeable. Nickcola, Sydney, and Hollie made me feel so glamorous during my visit. My hair has never looked as good as it does after my visit today! I cant wait to come back for my next visit! I will be telling everyone I know about this salon thanks to these three amazing women!

I love going to Paul Mitchell! The last time I went was on my birthday to get my make-up and hair done. I felt absolutely beautiful! They gave me a free treatment, and everything looked perfect. I was a little scared about the make up because the last time I had my make-up done the products were thick and fake looking. However, the stylist brought his own make-up and did a perfect job. Before going into the program he was a professional make-up artist! I have done Phase one and Phase two. I like both, but if you want to make sure the experience is exceptional try phase two since they have been in the program longer! If I have a problem with my hair cut, they always fix it right away.

They were able to cut the time more than in half by putting a couple students to the task. I had a wonderful experience! My trainee, Amber, and her instructor, Jenny, listened to what I was saying and went beyond my expectations! Amber does a fantastic job with highlights, and Jenny is a expert with a razor cut! The students arent trained in all techniques, including a razor cut, but Jenny took the time to give Amber (and the other trainees who came up to watch) a very quick lesson on usage and safety. The trainees were well-supervised and I am pleased with the results. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I felt a bit exposed. They have these huge windows in the front of the school, which I am sure is good for advertising, but makes you feel a bit like youre in a fishbowl. I will definitely be going back!

Not too bad of a school, I suppose. The initial phase of learning, which is called Core, will get u ready for a more in-depth approach at barbering and cosmetology. However, making the transition from Core to the next phase becomes the challenge because as far as I see one seemingly has to “beg” for further information on barbering because a couple instructors during the day just look at u with a “blah” expression instead of actually intstructing. Currently, I’m standing around expected to pry barbering knowledge from other students because I’m not being taught jack. I guess I have to pay tuition and pull barbering info out of them instead of pay tuition and they owe up and give me what I’m paying for — which is barbering knowledge that won’t just lead me to a license but lead me into a skilled/ professional barbering career. To each his own though; maybe another may have a better experience, but mine is lackluster. I don’t recommend coming here if unless you’re at pmts Tampa for cosmetology. Their daytime instructors seem a bit more upbeat and all about educating their future professionals to the highest standards. Paul Mitchell the school gets 3 out of 5 stars from my standpoint. :) ***UPDATE*** Two days later… To be fair I owe an update, The dilemma I experienced at this establishment was personally addressed and pmts admin handled it with not only professionalism but with added kindness. They accommodated the small handful of us our needs by giving us more engagement and productivity. A couple students personally thanked me for speaking on this. So if anyone considers coming here as a guest or as a student, you’re in good hands. Also the “‘blah’” expressions I interpreted on instructors’ faces may not have been as I perceived; it was likely something I was oblivious to, probably insignificant, so the “kink” was straightened out within. This school is certainly for the Greater Good. I change my rating from 3 stars to 5.

Whenever I need a haircut and especially a color, I go to the Paul Mitchell School in Citrus Park. I know I will get a great cut and color by a student under direction of an instructor. This time was no different. I would have given 5 stars but I was not happy with the front desk staff. I had an early morning appointment and was not able to get to an ATM for cash so didn’t have enough money for a tip. I was not able to leave a tip on my card so I told the staff I was going to walk to the ATM and I would return with the tip. I walked to the center of the mall to the ATM and back to the school only for the front desk staff to then tell me they can not change my $20. I was told they cannot change the $20 because they do not keep money under $20. I felt like this was unbelievable because customers do pay by cash. I said that I cannot leave a tip then and walked out. This is ridiculous.

This is an update to my previous review posted a couple of weeks ago regarding a visit to the school for an up do and makeup. I have deleted the entire review now, because the unfortunate incident has been remedied by the director of the Paul Mitchell School Tampa and my previous star assessment really did not speak to how amazing my experience was with my stylist, prior to the unfortunate incident that resulted in me leaving before my hair and makeup were finished. The director personally called me and very professionally asked if I minded telling her what had happened to us while we were clients at the school on May 17th. Of course I did not mind, considering I had already told anyone who would listen. After listening, she sincerely apologized on behalf of Paul Mitchell and let me know how they remedied the situation so that it never happens to another client of the school ever again. I am so happy this was resolved, and I will definitely go back to the school again in the future!!

Im absolutely thrilled that i found Ms.Bri and Ms.Julie at the school. The sweetest girls. They took the time to do a color correct and squeezed me in to their super busy schedule. The wash house is by far my favorite! Spa music, comfy wash bowls and chairs , super relaxed environment. I was able to try keratriplex treatment & the hydratriplex -a-mazing!! I spent hundreds on a Brazilian blowout at a salon and the Keratriplex was an 8th of the price and gave simal results with less damage. The school is ran completely professional from the Director all the way down the chain. If you check them out i will give some tips1) go there when you have the time and patients, remember, they are students and can do a great job when you arent pressuring them.2) bring pics of what you want3) communicate with the student so they are on the same page.Their products..... Oh my! My hair has never been healtheir and im a platinum blonde..

I’m here as a future professional, and this school is honestly awesome! I was actually working here for almost two years, when I decided that I wanted to part take in cosmetology, and the staff and other FP’s couldn’t be more supportive. My main reasoning in deciding to attend was seeing how the FP’s got excited every single day to do hair, and more importantly to learn! The learning leaders take their time with you, will go step by step non-stop till you understand and they’re honestly here for you! Seeing all the interactions dailey for about two years is what made me found love for this industry and I do not regret my decision!
