We absolutely love Sharkey’s! We’ve been coming here with both of my boys since their first haircut and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Everyone is so kind and Faith does the best job cutting both of their hair. Both my kiddos were hard to settle for their first few haircuts but Faith and the team are such pros at getting a great haircut done even when they’re screaming and squirming. Hands down the best and will continue to come here for years to come!

My kids love coming here. My daughter gets the star treatment for just 34 bucks. A show, shampoo, haircut, cute hairdo, nails done, and a balloon, lollipop and ring at the end. Betsy took great care of us. I appreciated how she cut the hair conservatively and had me check it to make sure we got the length we wanted. I HIGHLY recommend coming here! They are also really nice about letting my son watch a show in a special car while he waits on his sister’s haircut.

Awesome environment and staff! Different cars, shows and video games make it fun for kids. Stylists are amazing at making kids and parents comfortable. Betsy even helped my wife make the leap to our sons first big boy haircut! Kids even get a balloon or sucker at the end. Great all around experience!

I brought my daughter to Sharkey’s for a haircut, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. My daughter is usually very scared of washing and combing her hair, but Lexi was so gentle and patient with her. She took the time to make her feel comfortable, and her kindness really put both of us at ease. I left feeling so grateful for the care they showed. Best place ever! Faith was absolutely AMAZING I warned her about my son and that this would be his second time getting his hair cut and did not go well at the other sharkeys in Wesley chapel. BUT as soon as she started the cut, little man was so calm and trusted the process and I was amazed how well she did on him and came out exactly how I wanted it. My daughter also got her FIRST hair cut today with Faith and was absolutely amazing! We will continue to be loyal sharkey customers and Faith will be our go to stylist for now on! My 2.5 year old whod only (VERY unwillingly) had his hair cut twice before this, loved this place. They have a tv at every station, lollipops, books, toys, balloons, and the chairs at the stations are elevated power wheels 😂😂 he jumped right up and sat down in the yellow hummer. The stylist was very patient and had all sorts of tricks to get him to cooperate and look down. Will absolutely return.

They made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We were the last in and didnt feel rushed out. They washed, conditioned and styles her hair and even painted her little nails. I have to say I can’t believe parents can leave a bad review for a kid’s salon knowing that servicing children is the most difficult task. The Stylist have to go above and beyond their expertise to create a safe , fun, & trusting environment for both the child and the parents which is very hard to do when a child is crying and fighting against a 15 minute haircut.Yes Sharkey’s has a 7 minute late policy, being late takes away from the time it takes to get your child comfortable and setup for the haircut which boys cuts are scheduled for 15 minute leaving only 8 minutes if you’re late.It Amazes me how the Stylist interacts and Create Great Haircuts on Moving Targets. $$SHOW YOUR GRATITUDE AND LEAVE A NICE $$TIP FOR YOUR STYLIST $$ !!!!

We came here for my 2yo’s first hair cut and it was great! Kat was very patient and kind as she talked through what she was doing. She let us put whatever show we wanted on the TV, and my son was very happy to see Mickey Mouse. He loved sitting in the car - the wheel turned and the buttons made noise. He was a little wiggly as kids are, but she was patient and adaptable. He has a double cowlick and so she took some extra time to help make it cut look great. We paid the extra $6 for the first haircut package with a before and after photo, certificate, and block of hair. He also loved his balloon at the end. It may be more than a “normal” hair cut, but we appreciated the extras to make our little one enjoy his experience too. Thanks, Sharkey’s!

All three of my boys have used Katrina and Betsy... these girls are amazing. Katrina is really good if your child doesn’t really like hair cuts she is really patient. Betsy does good fades and has dealt before with my sons hair when half of it was long. The place is always clean and secure. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and recommend it to everyone. I have been bringing my boys here for a couple of years. They love it here. While they are getting their haircut, they have a choice of playing video games or watching TV. Ms Katrina is wonderful with them and always so kind. She does a great job with their cuts everytime.The establishment is always clean. They are very patient and understanding of children. They are always super fast and really make it a comfortable experience for a child. Parents can feel relaxed here, even if your child may be having one of those impromptu bad days where nobodys happy lol. They never lose their patience, its really a great for kids cuts. Ive been taking my 3 year old here since he was 2. Kat and Faith are amazing to work with!! My son also has a shunt with catheters attached, so they are extra careful to his needs and understanding. Its really a great place!

For toddlers the experience was great. They were able to cut my kids hair without them freaking out like they do at home. The cars they sit in and tvs with the cartoons playing really help. They also included painting my daughters nails and gave her a little costume ring and both of them got a balloon and a lollipop at the end. The actual haircut with my daughter who had hacked off a bunch of hair on her own definitely was good considering the situation. My sons hair cut was a almost okay just a mistake in the back that Im not pleased with but wont take long to even out. Definitely will take them back just will be more vocal and focus on his hair next time. Having two to watch at the same time makes it harder. I was worried it was going to be expensive but it was actually perfectly fine. About $25 per kid. Definitely worth it to not have to hold down my son while he screams doing it myself lol and definitely worth it to have someone fix a child having cut their own hair!

I have been coming here for a little over a year for my son who is super sensitive to noise and touch around his head. His favorite stylist has been Besty who has been amazing and patient and has worked with him each and every time taking care of his worries and reassuring him throughout the process making him more comfortable with each visit and of course the haircuts never disappoint, even with his issues in the beginning with constant moving and crying he has come out looking handsome each time. He has also gone from crying the entire time to saying Im a big boy mommy I dont cry anymore and that is a huge plus for me due to his sensitivity. They have a great setup as well for kids of all ages in cool cars with the option to play games on the TV or watch something instead. After the haircuts the kids are rewarded with a balloon and lollipop which is my sons favorite part of course lol I cant imagine going anywhere else to have my sons haircut. Definitely recommend this to anyone with little ones 👌

My son is 3 and autistic and we haven’t had the best luck over the years with getting his hair cut and he didn’t cry he sat alone and enjoy the coco melon display. Jordan was very patient with him and his cut looks amazing. He got a balloon upon leaving. Definitely recommend this place for all kids

This place is so cool! Its completely aimed towards kids and the ladies who work there are amazing and go above and beyond. I took my two year old son here for his first real hair cut because I knew he wasnt going to be easy...and he wasnt, but Miss Ronda cut his hair like a pro even with his flailing around and trying to dodge her...she gave him a great cut. They had Little Baby Bum on the TV (you know what this is if you have a toddler) which was great and they tried to calm him down with bubbles, toy cars, and snacks...I highly recommend Sharkeys.

My kids look great with their haircuts and hairdo’s. Love this place. The staff is super friendly and my kids love coming here as well. They have a play area to entertain the kiddos while they wait for their turn. They have candy and balloons when the kids are done with their haircuts. The girls get their nails polished and a hairdo when they get their hair cut as well. The kids get to sit on a toy car if they’re little or play video games if they’re bigger kids. Girls get their own girl section which is super girly and cute. I love coming here! Would recommend it to everyone!

Crazy how the majority of the bad service reviews were not even SERVICED. They missed their appointments (over 7 minutes late with no call), YOU were the one who brought him in late, not us. We actually lost money because of your actions. Do you want a $26 haircut done in 7 minutes?.What happens when you show up for other places late? The pediatrician? Daycare?These stylists were waiting on your arrival to do the cuts. You may say “there’s no one here”. That’s because their next appointments had a few minutes before their scheduled appointment. That’s money the shop and the stylists lost.You want to explain that your child’s haircut was not important enough to show up on time or call to say you were running late? How can you rate a store that you never used?It is difficult cutting thrashing, screaming, snotting , and kicking children. All we ask is that you respect the store’s appointment system.It amazes me that two customers admitted to being 9 minutes late. One even went as far to tell another mom in the park to not go to Sharkey’s. Why? We give bad haircuts? Oh yeah, you wouldn’t know!Keep in mind most of these parents made a scene IN the store. We don’t support any loud, rude behaviorIn front of our customers. And don’t forget the “shut up” woman who added to her rant on Google. You yelled for the two stylists (one wasn’t enough because she told you several times we have no space) to “SHUT UP”! )She keeps updating her review so it goes to the top!!keep in mind when she was 9 minutes late and upon leaving yelled “shut up” right in front of her child a store full of people. Yet she says we have lousy customer service . Get a life lady! These women are so patient and can not only deal with screaming and moving children but also give excellent haircuts. They are always short staffed because who wants to be treated poorly knowing they do a job that so few can do? These women are saints. I worked here for 5 years and was mortified, not by the screaming kids (they can’t help it they are too small to know better), but by the hovering Karen’s who sit Idley by without attempting to help. Some of the moms treat these saints like garbage or complain about the price. These poor women get no benefits, yet do it for the love of children. It’s a family owned business so they aren’t offered insurance, sick days, vacations, 401k etc.their only reward is a paycheck where they are payed hourly. A minimal pay for a job few people would want to do.Unless they deem a child dangerous they will cut any child, even one’s terrified or on the spectrum. Some children are turned away from several other places before they find Sharkey’s. As a mom I’m mortified that there are still people giving 1 star reviews because they couldn’t show up on time for their 15 minute appointment . Or one complained because her SON cried because she chose not to detangle the hair before hand. Of course her son cried while a stranger tried to detanglehis hair. What kind of mom neglects their son’s hair and let’s it get so long that it needs DETANGLING? She left because her son cried. The stylists are payed to CUT the hair, not maintain a mop. Get it together people! And please show some respect to these stylists who could get another job anywhere!

Super cute salon for kids of all ages! My 9 year old daughter loved the glamor room for girls and my almost 2 year old son got to sit in the batmobile for his haircut! My son is terrified of hair cuts and screamed the entire time (as he always does), but his stylist, Perla, was wonderful and patient with him. She did an awesome job on his cut. Good evening!! I believe I should clarify what this business is and what it isn’t. As people tend to look at reviews previous to visiting I hope this helps. One, when booking appointment please make sure not to select bang trim if you are cutting more than fringe so the stylist has the time to sit with your littles for a proper cut. Two any questions please call, if they don’t answer either they are closed or with a client and we don’t want a stylist to leave a child alone to get hurt do we? For childrens cuts there is a small window frame to cut. This is from the moment the haircut appointment time starts. So there is a 7 minute late policy. 7+ minutes it would be good to reschedule as 15 minutes total time is not nearly enough from washing hands( we want healthy children and want to stop ANY spread of germs) so they have you wash or sanitize your hands because children and parents touch a lot. Including doors and high touch surfaces and put hands in mouths. It’s for the KIDS SAFETY. You are asked to be as close to your appointment time as possible. 1 adult per group due to a small facility. Now if your child has a nurse or therapist or even a first haircut this will be taken into account and understandable for the extra adult. Coming in early is also not great as there are stylists on a very strict schedule and cannot see your child earlier than your time in most cases. They would send you a text otherwise. Please remember the staff IS HUMAN and they do have feelings. Abusive behavior we will ask you to exit. As it’s not healthy for children to witness and we are in the business of CHILDREN. We protect CHILDREN. Please let us do so. We need a safe and clean environment to do so which is why policies are in place. Blow dry is off the table due to children not wearing masks or not wearing appropriately so once a spray of a sneeze or a cough goes into the air, everyone is susceptible. Shampoos are COMPLIMENTARY. You DO NOT PAY FOR THEM. Just like the balloons and lollipops. Most kids are like washing a cat in a shampoo bowl. JUST .DOESN’T . MIX. Please wait to give your child the balloons because IT DOES DISTRACT the stylist and gets in the way of a proper cut. Please match the child’s size and ability to sit still for a cut with the appropriate seat . Bigger isn’t always better. Nail polish with a girls cut is also COMPLIMENTARY. Which means we do not know anyone sane enough to “pretend” to polish a child’s nail?? Thanks goodness this only happened once but then they complained as well. If you don’t want it okay, but it is still the same price. We do require adults to wear a mask. Children we recommend but if they are super uncomfortable it’s fine once in the chair as we do face away from the babies and they are away from us. Parents tend to hover as why we ask for the masks. DO NOT BRING A SICK CHILD IN. Cold, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, Covid, hand foot mouth, rsv. Please do not!! We are here to protect kids as well as their own health and their family at home as well. Tips are not on credit card, yet the stylists have a wide variety of ways to tip as they are HOURLY. They don’t make money off your haircuts, so when they squeeze you in it’s because they love what they do. Most salon will kick your child out or quit a cut due to being combative, so please keep in mind when you are with the stylist. They can do the best they can. If your child is moving can’t expect perfection. With children life is anything but. Also, these stylists are COSMETOLOGISTS NOT BARBERS. no straight razors and your child still has hair filling in; please do not expect a Google air touched photo. Look into more realistic photos for your child, do research. Figure out what you would like before getting in the chair. Makes everything go over way more smoothly. Your children are loved by these stylists, love them in return and be nice and understanding times are tough on them as well and they are happy to see you. Have a nice evening!
