I just had my first appointment at The Little Black Door Salon with Chelsea and I could not be happier! First off, Chelsea is the sweetest person who listens, is easy to talk to, and down to earth. Second, she is very skilled at what she does and is thorough with explaining every step as she does it. I was so pleased with the full highlights, cut, and style. I have naturally dark brown hair that Ive gotten highlighted blonde over the years. Im picky about who I go to because Im so particular about how I want my color to turn out. Jessy did an amazing job! I have always struggled to find a stylist that can work with my curly dark hair & Jessy knew exactly what to do! I walked in for a basic color because I did not think my dream hair was attainable. Jessy made me feel so comfortable in her chair and gave me the color and cut of my dreams. She added some highlights to give my curls dimension and gave me the perfect cut to show off my curls! I left feeling so beautiful! I can’t recommend her enough!!

Chelsea has been doing my hair for 7 years now and is truly one of the sweetest most professional people. She is always very attentive to my needs and the style I want (which switches often). I’ve had everything from super dark to very blonde hair. Short to long. Extensions and also natural hair. She knows what she’s doing and it always looks amazing while keeping the integrity of my hair! Highly recommend! Also… this salon is the cutest, relaxing, and well-run.

Chelsea was amazing! My hair was two toned from waiting over a year between coloring it platinum, and was breaking off, making it two different lengths (about 3 inches difference). She did a partial foil blonde and gave me a cut, and it looks so natural and healthy! I absolutely LOVE it!!

The color, the tone, the cut, the styling…all exceeded my expectations! Being blonde isn’t easy but Chelsea totally color corrected my wrecked blonde hair and sure did make it look easy! The time spent consulting with me on what I wanted and how we could get there was perfectly explained and executed. I have seen Jessina twice thus far and I cannot say enough good things about her and her skills. She is one of the best stylist I have seen in 30 yrs - my previous stylist had retired and after trying several other stylists, they could not give me what I wanted and needed. Jessina nailed it and I have received so many compliments from family, friends and strangers!!! Her rates are great and she doesn’t try to upsell anything. She just did what she thought was best for me, skin tone and face features and suggested that I didn’t need anything more than what she had already done. The salon is conveniently located, clean and very friendly.

The location is on Gandy Blvd between Manhattan and West Shore. I recommend you give it a try! Ill be going back for highlights!

My experience at The Little Black Door Salon was exceptional to say the least. It was my first time coming into the salon, but it will not be my last. I booked a consultation with Chelsea initially for 15 minutes. At the consultation Chelsea was THOROUGH. She asked questions, gave me her professional opinion of what she recommends, and then gave a step by step rundown of what the actual appointment will entail. Chelsea is completely upfront about pricing and what she plans to do at the appointment. At the actual appointment Chelsea did exactly as she said and let me know exactly what she was doing throughout the entire process. Chelsea was professional, detailed, and extremely welcoming. It felt that I had been getting my hair done there for years. Chelsea is beyond efficient and knowledgeable. I had no fears my hair was going to be damaged or look anything different than what was discussed. As for the salon, it is absolutely adorable. The aesthetic is a vibe, the environment is clean, tidy, and the salon even offers refreshments and snacks. The other salon staff were also AMAZING. All the staff said hello, made conversation, and even offered assistance during the process. Meredith helped Chelsea throughout the process and was phenomenal. She finished me off with a gorgeous beach wave. Everyone who touched my head was BEYOND TALENTED and POSITIVE. Often times you go into a salon and you feel the negative energy; NOT HERE.
