I came here in 2021 to see Penny for her work on blondes specifically, she got me from my natural dirty blonde to platinum and still touching it up now in 2024. I dont trust anyone else in the Tampa area to touch my hair!! She has been a blonde blessing, my hair is naturally more fine so I was nervous going platinum but my hair has gotten so much healthier with the routine trims and root touch ups its still long. I recommend Penny & all the staff are always welcoming and helpful & friendly. Thank you 🩷

Charles did my perm over a year ago and he did it exactly how I wanted, I ended up with no hair damage and it’s looked beautiful for over a year :) Everyone thinks it’s natural!!! Such fair pricing too. I recommend him to everyone! I was nervous at first about how it would come out but I’ve so happy with the results.

I came in to see Penny for the first time this month! I came in for a balayage and to refresh my front pieces. My hair is extremely hard to lighten and it came out a bit darker than my preference. Penny saw me multiple times and worked with me through until my hair was exactly the way I wanted it! I am so pleased with the way it came out and appreciated all the hard work and effort she put in to make sure I was inlove with my hair. After a few tweaks my hair looks the best it ever has!!! :) TY!

My wife came to get her hair colored a new color for her birthday. I cannot thank Penny and Victoria enough for the amazing job they did. It’s a great feeling to see your wife smile when she sees the finished product. Last time she smiled this much was on our wedding day! I have been after a specific look for the last 6 months and found the perfect person who wasn’t afraid to try it and exceeded my expectations! I found uBU on Google searching for the best balayage in Tampa. This salon showed up in my search and then I went to work on looking for the right stylist. I searched on the salons Instagram page and looked at everyone’s work.... to be honest it was such a hard decision because EVERYONE in this salon does such an AMAZING job! I chose Kate because by the looks of her IG professional page she had just finished cosmetology school last year. Seeing how amazing her work was by someone who had JUST finished school!!! i knew she was THE ONE! 🤩 I was not wrong on my choice. I have had great stylists before but Kate was exceptional at trying to understand exactly what I wanted, was honest she’d never done it before but she was ready for a challenge! I’ve had so many stylists trying to talk me out of it but she wasn’t afraid! She was very meticulous and methodical about her work and it made me feel good to know that she truly truly wanted to make sure I left with what I asked for. she far far exceeded my expectations! the salon was very clean, beautiful and EVERY single stylist at the salon was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. I’ll recommend to anyone who asks and I will 100% be coming back!

Lingy did an absolutely amazing job correcting + lightening my hair. If you are looking to start the blonde process from brown hair, she’s the girl to go to. My hair came out better than I could have ever expected. She took her time to perfect the craft and I REALLY appreciate that in a stylist.

Penny does a great job with a Ouidad curly cut. She took my hair from a curly bad cut disaster and gave me a beautiful mound of fabulous curls. Yes, its a little shorter than I would have preferred, but she had to do it to make it right.The salon has a great atmosphere and is filled with joy and laughter. Ive found my new curly home!

I was so grateful I was able to schedule an appointment at this salon only a few days prior as my usual stylist had a family emergency and was unable to get me in before an event. The salon is clean and professional. My stylist was Shaina and she was kind, professional and talented at refreshing my highlights and giving my hair a much needed trim. Im giving 4 stars because the price I was quoted on the phone did not match the final total for my services when I checked out.

Highly recommend!!! Good vibes from right when you walk in the door, I had Rick Barnes and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, super fun guy, and my hair came out perfect! I was hyped the entire time. Personally, I have a hard time describing what I want but I showed him one picture and he delivered! My hair is absolutely gorgeous and I wouldnt change a thing!

I love the area, of course, everyone at the salon is pleasantly, but not overly friendly and that is a plus!I loved my hair, carlos Lugo understood what I wanted.He is an exceptional person and Hair Designer! I will return for sure. There is nothing negative about this Hair Salon experience. I will send everyone there.The shampoo Carlos gave me was amazing and that is VERY important. The color turned out how I wanted.

Charles did an amazing job! I came in with long hair wanting to chop it all off and was a bit nervous, but Charles understood exactly the look I was going for and took the time to make slight adjustments in the layers so that it turned out just right and I was so happy with the end result. I bought a groupon for a deep conditioner and a hair cut, my hair feels so great and I am so so picky I have not gone somewhere new in 2 years but because of me moving to Florida and needing a hair cut took a chance since they had good reviews so sooo glad I gave this a chance already booked an appt for full highlights with rick next month can not wait! I went in to see Carlos and he changed my life! He was honest about the process and was extremely attentive the entire time I was there. He was super relatable and funny and made the hours feel like minutes. I have dark brown hair which had a brassy yellow to it and when he was done with me, it was the ashy blonde I have been wanting for years. Of all the places Ive been to Tampa (including Mikels) I have never been this satisfied. Everyone there was so friendly. I will 10000% recommend him and this salon to everyone I know, I will definitely be back.

Best hair salon in South Tampa. Both my daughter and I have be going to Penny since the salon opened 10 years ago. They are creative, use Olaplex high end color products and contemporay and professional hair styling techniques. I used to live in Manhattan and have high expectations of modern cuts and styles, this salon is the real thing. I wonder about some of the negative reviews here if they are really verified. Seems like the same people object to serving wine more than about the hair products and services.

I first went to UBU to have my hair fixed, I saw Jazzmynn Brock - she is awesome. My hair was really fried and so ugly but she made it nice and blonde again. Unfortunately it didnt last the toner kept washing out but I called and she had me come back in and fixed it at no charge. At that point she had me as a customer for life. Shes young, bright, talkative and adorable - that means a lot when youre with someone for hours! So skipping ahead a few months I just had beautiful blonde extensions put in my very short hair and they turned out PERFECT! Shes an awesome colorist, stylist and a perfectionist with hair extension. I would recommend anyone to her, shes simply the best.

Saw reviews and booked with Carlos for blonde highlights. He knocked it out of the park. My hair looked exactly the way I wanted it and he really listened to what I was trying to accomplish. Icing on the cake was the quick service. I needed to be in and out in 2 hours before work and he made it happen. Hard to do blonde right and Carlos definitely knows what he is doing!

WOW! Hands down best haircut I have ever received. I moved to Tampa four years ago from NYC and have been looking for a good salon/stylist ever since, Im so glad I finally came across U.B.U. and discovered TRISH!!! She is incredible! I got a full head balayage & trim—and could not be happier, this is the blonde I have wanted for years!!! Trish took the time to make sure my hair was perfect and exactly how I wanted it. Shes amazing—flawless cut/color/style . Lastly, yes, this salon is a little pricey but you get what you pay for... they use high-end products like Olaplex and it REALLY is worth it, you can see a difference I promise!

Ive been looking like crazy for a great stylist, especially for blonde and I lucked out finally. Jazzmynn is amazing she seriously takes her time to get the look you want while preserving hair that is damaged from breaking off. I had horrible color and she made it look amazing blonde that is healthy and full. That is seriously hard to do with blonde hair. Most stylist would separate your hair slap on dye even though your hair is damaged and not care. I finally found my stylist to keep perfect healthy blonde hair and she is amazing. Coming from NY is hard to find a stylist that compares and she went above and beyond. The whole salon is amazing and all works together to keep you happy and get the look you want. If you want people that care and take their time seriously go to this salon you wont regret it.

My hair feels so healthy and she helped fixed my bangs after this one lady messed them up. I now don’t have to pin my bangs back anymore or wear a headband. I love my new hairstyle!!
