Went to get a beard trim and head shave. Awesome atmosphere. Was very welcoming by the staff. Hard to find old time barbershops but are in a 2023 era instead of the 50’s. Heather was accommodating by the request of my hair care as to giving me a haircut and beard trimmed. Check them out for sure so you can be cleaned up for your next outing.

Usually I would go with whoever was avaliable for the time I needed because everyone always dose a good job. Recently I started using Malachi lowe and it has been by far the best bald fade experience I have ever had so if your looking for the sharpest cut around he is my recommendation.

We drive for 15 minutes to come to this barber shop, it’s a bit of a drive but it’s okay, because my son only prefers to do his haircut here. We always booked our appointment via online, like 2 days before the day of the appointment, or earlier, because he usually fully booked all the time, and oh the name of the stylist is Paul. They wear mask every time we go there, so, yes, they practice the COVID safety precautions too. 👍👍👍

Went here on a chance because I needed a haircut and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere. I was a walk-in and greeted immediately. A couple of questions later, the young lady at the front guided me to her chair and started cutting my hair. The ladies name was Lara, and she did a fantastic job and squeezed me in between one of her clients. Now, I dont recommend being like me and taking the chance of being a walk-in client, but if you read this review, schedule an appointment with her, and shell take care of you.

Brianna J is bar none the best haircut I’ve ever received. She always takes plenty of time before hand to make sure what exactly you want and does a fantastic job doing it. She has 11/10 customer service and you can tell when you meet her that she’s a great person and she’ll continue to be my artist for as long as she cuts hair. My usual go-to here is Malachi. There are few people who fade and line my beard as well as he has managed to do so consistently. He also knows how to create a warm environment by being extremely social and carrying conversation throughout the entire process. All the barbers take their job seriously, and Chop helps them maintain this professionalism by putting them through training to refine their craft. I’m EXTREMELY picky about my bangs and was super nervous to try someone new. However Chop Barber shop was able to get me in last minute with Tommy who was AMAZING!!! I showed him how I like my bangs and he did exactly that!!! Every one in the shop was extremely nice and Tommy was so amazing! I went there to get a haircut with Justin K. I left satisfied with my cut but after showering I realized that the length and blending was a little long. I called the shop and they told me to come in. After speking with Justin, he sat me down and fixed my hair. He did not hesitate and took the time to fix what I showed him. The beard work he did was great and I just needed my hair shorter. Have gone here for over a year now and never had a haircut I didn’t love. I am very picky about haircuts and was pleasantly surprised with the time and attention they take with my haircuts. Never have I felt like my haircut has been rushed so they can get to the next customer. I personally get my hair cut by Lindsay who I would highly recommend. This was my first time coming to a barber in a very long time. When I walked in the staff were welcoming and helped me get an appointment in the next 15 minutes. After having long hair for over 6 years and finally going to get it cut very short, I was extremely nervous about how I was going to look. Having Mr. D as my barber made the transition as smooth and painless as possible! He is very hospitable and listened to everything I wanted while offering me great advice when I wasnt sure about something or had a question. During the haircut we were having a great conversation which made the time fly by. As for the end result, I couldnt be happier! Ill admit I was a little hesitant seeing my hair short for the first time in so many years, but after I adjusted to it I think it couldnt have gone any better. I dont really like most barbers, and I will try several before being happy with a place. Sometimes they take too long or chat too much, or some times they dont listen to what youve specified. I moved to Tallahassee about 9 months ago. One of the earlier things I did was go online and research barbers. I planned on trying a few. I decided to try Chop Midtown first on my list and...well I never got to the rest of my list! Ive had four or five barbers work on me there, and while I can say I prefer a couple over the others, it is a small distinction. I havent yet had a bad experience. They have several chairs operating at any one time, the place is always busy, but the absolute longest Ive waited is 5 minutes. The staff is always very friendly, and somehow the employees seem genuinely happy every time. Theyve accommodated me when I was late, and theyve taken me as a walk-in. They sell their own hair products, and Im a fan of the strong hold pomade. The environment is artsy street hipster, but not the unwelcoming, snobby kind. The opposite, actually. Ive told my friends about this place and I recommend anyone to give them a try. Also, Lucky Goat Coffee is literally right across the street. A new cut, a shave and a cappacino is one of lifes small comforts.

Brianna cuts my boyfriend’s hair and they are literally the best hair cuts he’s ever gotten. She is the best and is so sweet I definitely recommend her.

I was getting frustrated waiting in line forever in traditional walk-in barber shops. I heard that Chop Barbershop does online booking and decided to try it out! I now have been going regularly for over 6 months now. Jeff cuts my hair and does a great job every time. Other staff is awesome and courteous, the atmosphere is unique and inviting, and the professionalism cannot be found anywhere else. I highly recommend booking online. It only takes 30 seconds and youll be in and out with a great cut in no time!

I enjoyed getting my haircut here. The place is smaller than expected, but the staff is very friendly to everyone. They have cool music playing in the background and you can even get a free drink while you wait. Its best to make a reservation though because they can be pretty busy. The barber did well and was pretty meticulous which I appreciated. I only got the gentlemans quickie so I wasnt there long at all. The prices are good for the services provided. Ill probably make this place my permanent barbershop!

Regrettably Chop: Railroad closed. I followed by wonderful barber Teddy to this location . Same great Chop experience, just a new location. Teddy is a great barber and always does a great, quick job and is an excellent conversationalist! I feel like the prices are good. I love the atmosphere and online booking. It makes it easy to schedule a cut during my lunch during busy weeks. I cant recommend this spot enough. Everyone I see leave looks fresh as frick.

Ive been going to Chop since they opened and have always had a great experience. Tried several barbers at the beginning who all did a good job. But, once Teddy cut my hair once, I havent been to anybody else since. Not only is she excellent at her craft, but she takes the time to get to know her clients and what their wishes are. Also, she remembers the names of my wife and children. That attention doesnt necessarily make her better at cutting hair, but it does make her amazing at customer service. As long as Teddy is at Chop, Ill be a customer.

Started going to Midtown Chop a year ago. Since visiting, I’ve gotten engaged and have been promoted at work plus received an additional raise. May be the haircut, may not, but I can confirm that the beard trim plus haircut is always flawless.Paul is a master craftsman and I can’t recommend him enough.

It’s got a great young vibe. But I did see someone’s granny getting her hair done amidst all the tattoos and biker bar kitsch.But a barber shop is about the hair. I’ve been three times and tried three different barbers. All came out great. Some are quicker than others and not all can do a bald fade. So If you are in a rush or picky take some time to pick your barber and book ahead.They take walk-ins but that’s risky. It gets pretty busy and stays that way.Final verdict: fun vibrant place with fast paced haircuts but book ahead.

This is the 1st time been here. An old school, pretty cool barbershop with professional staff, nice stories and great beer, too. April did a great job with my hair (since many people say my hair is tough to design). Also, the price is affordable for a student, so I definitely will be back.

My first time at Chop Barbershop, walked in with no appointment lookin like an inbred with a ratty mullet, walked out with a slick haircut...thanks to Mr. D of course. He cut my hair better than I had envisioned it. Cool place with friendly people and great prices. This was my first time getting a haircut that wasnt at the barber shop I have been going to my entire life back home and I was a bit nervous at first but ill tell you what, dont be. Recommend would be an understatement, I urge you to get your next haircut here!

When in Tally...but in all seriousness, Kevin was the real MVP for having me as his last appointment of the day at 7 p.m. Never went to a barber shop with hours that late, especially on a weekend. Very humble and confident man who really made me appreciate my haircut. Was in and out of there within 25 minutes and couldn’t have asked for a better cut. Kinda felt bad because of how tired I was that I didn’t end up conversing more with him but I’m sure he understood. Great job!
