    These ladies are amazing! They always get me in and out quickly. I had an appointment today at 11 am and was walking out at 2:25 pm. Their customer service is top tier and they are very accommodating! Highly recommend!

    I drove 2hrs just to get my hair braided at this shop, and it was definitely worth the drive! my appointment was at 9, and they were done before 1:30pm. my hair is also pretty short, maybe 4in if not longer, and they were able to grip it very well. the braids are nice and neat, and almost a month later they still look good. i will definitely be back. :))

    The braids are top quality -- just got it done today so Ill update in a month or so if it turns out differently but for now, I honestly want you to know that these are some of the best quality braids Ive ever gotten in near 30 years on this earth. PROS: definitely include it being a legit shop -- I refuse to sit in someones house like many braiders do these days so I searched high and low for a real salon I could go to. Another pro is the ambience -- there wasnt a lot of cursing and loud noise etc. The braiders talked to each other a lot but it wasnt drama; I just relaxed and sat back while my hair got done. Also the area isnt shady; like I wasnt sitting there worried about my car maybe getting stolen the whole time. I was greeted immediately so no wait time and they made very very very sure that we were all on the same page with the style, length, color etc before they even started. PRICING: I paid $300 (same thing wouldve been about $200 back home but when in Rome do as the Romans do) for small knotless mid-back solid color. It took about 6 hours. CONS: There were a few things that made me tense -- I grew up being told its bad luck to have two people in your head at the same time so imagine my surprise when two (eventually three) people started working in my head at the same time. It kind of worked out because I think it saved time since my hair usually takes closer to 9-10 hours and it seemed normal for them to do it that way. A second thing was that the young girl doing my hair coughed a couple of times and I could feel the air on my scalp when she did; Im not a full on germaphobe but that did make me feel some type of way. The third was just that I have a bit of a crick in my neck because of the way she kept yanking on my hair. To be fair, she apologized every time she did it. Lastly, I prefer to see services and prices so having to call and someone gives me a price based on the style I described did raise an eyebrow -- not that I think she was gouging me, moreso like if theres a set price for a certain length and style, then why cant I see that online on your page? OVERALL: If I lived in Tallahassee, I would make DeNYA my go-to hair spot 100%. My scalp feels good, I dont feel like I got fleeced spending that much money, and I really think these braids will last (look how neat my rows are!)

    They do great work. They begin immediately and take no breaks. I was in and out in 3.5 hours with a braid style that normally takes 5 hours. They double and triple braiders at one time and it totally works. I’m a repeat customer because of the neat work and professionalism. Sherall

    Ive been frequenting Denyas for almost 5-6 years and I have been nothing but impressed and satisfied with finishing results. Im not the typical plait lady all the time so I will send a picture to see if its a possible and like always, they deliver each time. They are very personable and greets me every time I walk in. It feels amazing to walk in an establishment and youre greeted by name. The work is always neat and beautiful! If Im out and about, Im always asked where did I get it done? The professionalism and attentiveness I receive each and every time is priceless. I will always be a patron. Great job ladies!!

    I have been going to Den yas gallery for two years and the service has been amazing every time. The braiders are professional, efficient, and their work is always consistent and of high quality. Their services are fairly priced and the braiders have been nothing but accommodating when it comes to how I want my hair styled. I would highly recommend them for all of your braiding needs!

    I am soooooooooooo happy with my braids. I called the owner on yesterday(Saturday) at 1p asking for a Monday appointment. She asked what would you like. She told me that she may be able to get me in today if I could get a picture of the style that I wanted. I found a pic and stopped by the salon to show her the size of the knotless braids that I wanted. I was able to go home and wash my hair. I returned to the salon at 5:00. The first Braider started on me at 5:30p. I had a total of four braiders and I was leaving the salon at 11:00. I wanted small braids and I did not want my scalp showing. The only thing that I can say is that I have a new braiding salon. I have received sooooooooo many compliments on my hair today. I have to add that I am VERY “tender headed” and I was able to go to bed without taking a Tylenol. I will be back in another 4-6 weeks to get my braids redone.Updated review: The photo is from my last visit in Nov 23,2024. Ms Deb and her team never disappoint. I always leave happy. Same as in the previous post: no headache, doesn’t take all day and I don’t have any issues with my Boho braids. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

    These women are amazing I literally had a hair appointment and the girl canceled last minute I called the shop and they were able to take me that morning at 10 and I was out by 4 they are fast the hair is included, the parts are so neat and the length is exactly what I wanted. I have gotten so many compliments and I absolutely love my braids. Will definitely be coming back

    My experience at DeNYA African Gallery was amazing! I called 1 week prior and made an appointment and the staff were more than willing to accommodate my needs. My braids are exactly as I envisioned and so neat and polished. The environment is very welcoming and everything just flowed so naturally. I love how the staff take pride in the care and satisfaction of their clients! I cant wait to book my next style :)

    I booked the studio for my first braiding experience in preparation for my Jamaica trip. I booked mid-back length, “smedium” (in between small and medium) sized braids. The environment was peaceful and relaxing. The majority of the time there were two stylist working on my braids. A third stylist I call the closure who I believe is the owner came in and adding wonderful finishing touches. It was a great experience. I have received several compliments! You will not be disappointed.

    My experience from beginning to end was excellent! They braided my daughters hair today and I am so pleased. Ive been trying to find someone for weeks.     First & foremost the ladies are PROMPT and PROFESSIONAL. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles. As far as the hair braiding I unfortunately did not take a picture BUT its perfectly neat all the braids are the same size and theyre not tight at all!!. I could go on but if you... whoever you are need your hair braided etc, I WOULD RECOMMEND these ladies to my mother!! Im so pleased and relieved I now found Ms Debra and her staff!!!     A co worker referred this place to me because I complained about the quality of work I’ve gotten since moving down here. I made an appointment and they got me in the next day . I was greeted with a good morning and a smile. One lady did my box braids in 4 hrs I was very impressed and the quality of work is very good . I have to say I loved my first visit and we definitely be back. I’ve already gotten lots of compliments and have referred others

    I love love love my hair since I moved to Tallahassee years ago I never got my hair braided by anyone. Due to my recent hair loss I decided to get my hair braided. When I arrived the staff here where very pleasant I received my consultation to see what was best for my hair at the moment since one side was shorter. I got plaits and they can out amazing started at 11:11am was out by 3:20pm. No wait time at all they pride themselves on giving the client what they asked for I will definitely come back in a few months when its time to get it re-done. Thank you ladies!

    Ive patronized ALL of the braiding shops in Tallahassee at one point or another. DenYA African Gallery was by far my best experience. First the con. They were a little pricier than most of the salons Ive patronized by approximately $20-25. But it was absolutely worth it. The shop was CLEAN. When I arrived, they IMMEDIATELY started on my hair. I got small, knotless, above the waist braids. It took approximately 3.5 hours. They did a neat braiding style without stressing my edges or braiding tight and Im extremely tender headed. My braids are very neat and tight without pain. Ive gotten a bunch of compliments on my hair! They were very professional and have earned a repeat customer in me.

    Made my appointment, showed up on time. Greeeted nicely, each person that did my hair greeted me before starting. You can tell that the manager and her employees want you to leave happy.I had a small issue while my hair was being done and they went above and beyond to ensure my hair was satisfactory and done in a timely manner. I traveled over 2 hours from Jacksonville FL to get my hair braided bc they do the best work I’ve seen & I’ve been around a long time & have seen both good & bad work & they never disappoint!!     I go to the all the time. But last time I went it took 12 hours! I was so upset they did a good job and I will give them another chance they just can’t put new people on my hair there not ready yet!Update: Went back today they did a great 👍 job with my hair sat down at 10am left by 3pm. I don’t know the owners name but apparently she thought I gave her a bad review lol It wasn’t it was 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is the 4th I been and this time she had her regular staff!     Ok so I have ever only had a couple of people do my hair regularly other than myself, my cousin who is very well at it and my Momma. I chose to go to DeNYa African Gallery: one reviews with research and two because intuition. The calmness and sureness of the woman on the phone, not knowing who it is was, so welcoming which helped me feel confident. I had a 57minute drive to the location, WORTH IT! I got here at 1:45 (I was late) and my hair is done at 3:50?!?! I did get crochet and my hair is lengthy and thick so Satisfaction Guaranteed, cant wait to see how long it holds up ( I work in a kitchen at a golf course so I sweat...alot).     I called several African braiding salons and Denya’s was the most professional as far as answering my questions and scheduling. I showed the stylists a picture I found on Pinterest and the style was executed perfectly. Every stylist that touched my hair was extremely gentle with my natural hair. Everywhere I go people are asking me who did my hair and complimenting the style. I will definitely be going to Denyas from now on for my braided styles.
